The spoilers are extremely spoiling. They contain a summary of season 6. So if you haven't watched every episode so far...Don't click.

Two episodes left. TWO. Both next week, at least where I live. So...Let's quickly recap the season...

[hide]

* Episodes 1-4: Jack Bauer, after being taken prisoner by China 20 months earlier, is released under a deal arranged by President Wayne Palmer. Jack is immediately asked to sacrifice himself to Abu Fayed, who has offered CTU Hamri Al-Assad, who is believed to be the terrorist mastermind behind the suicide bombings of the last 11 weeks, in exchange for Bauer. Bauer finds out however, that Assad is actually trying to stop the attacks, and Fayed is the true mastermind. Bauer escapes, rescues Assad, and then prevents a subway bombing in Los Angeles. Bauer & CTU then find out that the bombings of recent weeks were all designed to distract the United States from Fayed's true objective: the detonation of five nuclear bombs across the United States. At the end of the fourth episode, one bomb is detonated in Valencia, north of L.A.

* Episodes 5-11: Jack discovers that his father and brother are involved in the plot. He also finds out that they were connected to the events that happened 20 months ago. After locating and defusing one of the remaining bombs, Jack successfully rescues his nephew, Josh, from his father (who killed Graem). Philip escapes, but leaves Jack a lead to call former President Charles Logan. President Logan takes Jack to the Russian Consulate General, Anatoly Markov. Assad manages to lead CTU to Dmitri Gredenko, who provided Fayed with the bombs and is planning to arm RK-2 Aerial Drones with the three remaining bombs to attack the United States. Back at the White House, President Palmer refuses to implement security measures that would suspend civil liberties and refuses to take military action against countries some believe supported the attacks. Instead he enlists the former terrorist Assad to make a speech to the world asking his people to give the U.S. information on locating the real terrorists and move towards peace. Some in the government, claiming to be true patriots, are unhappy with Palmer's approach, fearing that it will lead to the destruction of the United States. One of them, Deputy Chief of Staff Reed Pollock, has a plan to assassinate the President and frame Hamri Al-Assad for the attack. Chief of Staff Tom Lennox tries to prevent the assassination attempt, but he is unsuccessful. The President's podium explodes at the end of the 11th hour, killing Assad and leaving Palmer in critical condition.

* Episodes 12-15: The President is in a coma, so Vice President Noah Daniels assumes the powers of Commander-in-Chief and immediately implements the security measures and threatens to attack the Middle-Eastern country that Assad and Fayed hail from. Meanwhile, Logan fails to blackmail Markov successfully into giving up Gredenko, so Jack sneaks back into the Russian Consulate and takes Markov hostage, torturing him until he gives Jack the information about Gredenko's whereabouts. Gredenko and Fayed are in the desert, preparing to launch the nukes on the unmanned drones at unnamed targets. But Jack is captured by the Russians soon after discovering Gredenko and Fayed's location. President Logan convinces his ex-wife Martha to call the Russian First Lady, Anya Suvarov, who convinces Russian President Yuri Suvarov to authorize CTU action against the consulate (led by new Director of Field Operations Mike Doyle). Jack immediately gives CTU the location of Gredenko, but it is too late, as one drone has already been launched and is heading towards San Francisco. CTU manages to locate the drone pilot through a security breach at CTU (for which Nadia Yassir is blamed, but later cleared), and Jack manages to crash land the drone. However, the bomb's nuclear core is compromised in the crash landing, releasing radiation. Vice President Daniels uses this as an excuse to launch a nuclear strike against the Middle-East. Sandra Palmer gives consent to bring President Palmer out of his coma, and he is able to stop the attack.

* Episodes 16-17: Jack Bauer and CTU capture Gredenko, but are still looking for the bombs. Gredenko agrees to cooperate with CTU to bring down Fayed in exchange for amnesty, and CTU plants a tracker in his arm. But his cooperation is a ruse, and he reveals to Fayed that it is a trap. Gredenko cuts off his arm to get away from the tracking device and they escape, but Gredenko tries to save himself by revealing Fayed's identity in a bar, whose patrons successfully hold Fayed. Fayed is taken into CTU custody and Gredenko gets away but dies from massive bleeding. Meanwhile, Palmer successfully fends off a challenge of his competence by Daniels, but then inexplicably reverses his position and orders the attack against Fayed's country. President Palmer's nuclear strike is later revealed to be a ruse to pressure Fayed's country into revealing Fayed's associates. This information is then used in another ruse staged by CTU in attempt to lure Fayed to reveal the location of the bombs. The ruse is also proven unsuccessful, but Jack is able to follow Fayed. After a violent struggle with Fayed, Jack single-handedly kills Fayed and his men and finds the two remaining nuclear bombs. The crisis seems to be over. But then Jack receives a phone call from Audrey Raines who had been presumed dead in China, and is being held by Cheng Zhi, the same Chinese agent who kidnapped and tortured Jack for the past two years. Zhi then gives Jack a number to call when he is alone, threatening to kill Audrey if Jack does not do what Cheng asks of him.

* Episodes 18-19: Cheng Zhi demands that Jack obtain a circuit board from the suitcase nuke in exchange for Audrey's freedom. The board would supposedly give the Chinese access to all of Russia's defense codes, which could spark an international crisis if the Russians find out about it. With Chloe's help, Jack tries to get the circuit board himself, knowing that CTU will not support his action. But Morris discovers Chloe's activities and forces her to tell Buchanan what Jack is up to. Doyle disables Jack, who asks to speak to the President to request authorization of his operation to save Audrey. President Palmer reluctantly agrees after Jack guarantees he will not allow the board to get into Chinese hands, and that he will sacrifice himself with the board if necessary. Meanwhile, with the suitcase nuke crisis over, President Palmer and staff leave the bunker and return to the Oval Office where Palmer demands that Vice President Daniels resign using the evidence Tom Lennox has about his perjury. But President Palmer collapses from a cerebral hemorrhage during a press conference before Daniels submits his resignation. After the Vice President assumes executive duties, he reverses Palmer's order for Jack's operation and Jack turns rogue, determined to save Audrey and kill Cheng. He and Cheng meet to do the exchange, but CTU and Doyle, who was able to track Jack down, engage on Cheng's men right as Audrey is freed and Jack gives up the circuit board. Cheng ends up getting away with the circuit board, as Jack is arrested before he had the chance to blow up the circuit board, himself, and Cheng with an explosive he had hidden. Audrey is safe, yet Jack notices that she has a mental breakdown as she doesn't recognize him.

* Episodes 20-21: Russia discovers that the Chinese have the circuit board that contains Russian defense codes through a leak in White House by Lisa Miller (Daniels' aide) to her boyfriend Mark Bishop who is working for the Russians. Russian President Suvarov threatens to launch an attack against a US military base near Russian territory if the US government fails to retrieve the board. Lennox advises Acting President Daniels to use Miller's connection to trick Russia into believing that the US has retrieved the board. Cheng escapes with the circuit board, but discovers that it has been damaged and needs codes to operate. He says he knows who can fix it. Back in CTU, Doyle helps Jack to escape custody so that he can get information from Audrey without her being hurt. She provides a name (Bloomfield) which CTU thinks may be where Cheng held her. Jack is taken back into custody after Nadia promises Audrey will be safe. Nadia sends a tactical team led by Doyle to intercept Cheng, but the team arrives too late and discovers that Cheng left behind a significant store of ammunition, which they assume was to launch an attack. It is soon revealed that their target is CTU. CTU is infiltrated by the Chinese, led by Zhou, and most members of CTU are taken hostage. After the assault, Milo is fatally shot when he protects Nadia. Meanwhile Jack convinces his guard to release him from the cell, and kills several Chinese operatives before rendezvousing with Marilyn and Josh, who are still inside CTU. Marilyn and Jack are soon captured while Josh remains in the air ducts, attempting to escape. Cheng orders Zhou to find Josh, as it becomes apparent that he is the "package" that they are trying to obtain. After his mother's life is threatened, Josh reveals himself to the Chinese. It is discovered that Cheng had made a deal with Philip Bauer, who has agreed to repair the component in exchange for his grandson.

* Episode 22-: Zhou's men capture Josh and take him to Cheng. Meanwhile, Jack and Nadia, with Morris' help, are able to retake CTU when Doyle and his tactical team return. Jack and Doyle then pursue and kill a number of Cheng's men before Jack reaches Cheng's location and cornered him. But Jack chooses to save Josh who is in danger and reluctantly lets Cheng escape. Jack is stunned to discover from Josh that his father Philip is somehow related to Josh's kidnapping. Cheng informs Philip that he has lost Josh and demands that Philip give him back the repaired circuit board. But, Philip refuses. Meanwhile, the ruse involving Lisa Miller appears to be successful when Mark Bishop begins to upload email from her PDA, but he becomes suspicious and confronts Lisa. At first she claims nothing is wrong but then, realizing that Bishop's involvement with her has caused her to almost go to jail, she attacks Bishop. He fights back and chokes her into unconsciousness, at which time Lennox and the Secret Service rush in and successfully force Bishop to transfer the fake email to the Russian. But President Suvarov, who has monitored Bishop and known about Daniel's plan, again threatens to launch an attack in two hours unless the US government retrieve the circuit board. Meanwhile, Philip Bauer, in possession of the circuit board, offers Vice President Daniels a deal: he would deliver the circuit board to the Americans in exchange for Josh. Daniels agrees and apparently orders CTU to make the exchange. Doyle takes Josh and restrains Jack, who does not know about the deal specifically but knows Josh is no longer safe. Doyle tells his men to take Jack back to CTU as Doyle takes Josh away.

Predictions on how it'll end...?

Such as...

-The circuit board. The biggest conflict right now. They'll get it back, but how?

-Jack + Audrey = NO. What will Jack do about Heller's command?

-Jack under arrest. What will he do about it?

-Josh + Phillip. What happens with them? How about Marilyn?

-Wayne Palmer. Will he return?

-Lisa Miller + Bishop. What will happen with them?

-Anything else you can think of...

[/hide]

I'm making this post kind of quickly, I'm not really thinking so I might completely change my post later.

I think the only thing that could save this show for another season would be have something really, really, really drastic happen at the end of this season. I think the only thing drastic enough would be Jack Bauer dying (for real). Of course, that would also kill the series.

This season started off decently, and got better up through episode 17. 17 was completely awesome, but that should have been the end of the season. Instead they throw in a completely different plot line for the last 8 episodes.

So yeah, I am pretty uninterested in how it ends, because I know it won't end very well, and they will just re-hash the same things over next season again.

I still watch it though.

Yep, they keep recycling plots. It's the same thing every season (This is probably why they didn't end it after episode 17)

Every season...

Suspected terrorist activity

Jack needs someone in CTU to not follow protocol but follow him

Terrorist attack 1 (Works because leader of CTU doesn't listen to Jack)

Mole in CTU/Government (Always someone who has/had a relationship with a good person)

Terrorist attack 2 (Fail, sometimes work)

New plot opens up

Jack must choose between family/friends and protocol

Jack chooses family/friends

Jack wins

Season over.

If they switch it up next season, that'd be better. But they probably won't. But still, the end of each season has that great cliffhanger, once someone watches an episode they probably have to watch every single one...

That's definitely true, which is why it probably won't change too much.

Season 1 was great, but everyone should have pretty much stopped watching by season 4 with how crappy it was getting. I guess it's OK they didn't stop because season 5 was OK, and the start/middle of this season was OK, just nothing new.

I absolutely love the show.... on DVD that is. I can't handle watching it on TV, just too many commercials ruin the suspence and entertainment.

So I haven't watched season 6 yet.... waiting for the DVD release :)

heard on the radio today that there will be two more seasons with Kiefer Sutherland.

I havnt really been into 24 that much, the few episodes ive seen have looked good. Ive been looking into getting this. would it be worth getting for that price?

Yep, they announced they will be doing two more seasons. They said Day 7 would be completely different than the first 6, and they weren't going to renew it again if it doesn't live up to that.

Its cheaper to get the seasons individually which is pretty stupid. ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã17.99 per season from most places.

Hah, know what you pay per season here? The first four ones are all 45 euro a piece. And Season five the prices goes between ̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¡Ãâì60 and ̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¡Ãâì80. I'm glad I got the UK seasons, with exception of the first two.

I really love 24, up until this season. The beginning of this season was great, but its gone way downhill. I don't think I'm going to be buying this one on dvd. I'm sort of wondering how they can top four nukes for next season though.

I love it, for some reason I don't mind the cyclical repetition, probably because I simply can't get enough of it. Best thing is, you can't just assume someone will make it out alive (except Jack) like all those other thousands of Hollywood cliches. Then, as they like to play "hide the ball", you don't know what to expect.

[hide=season 4 spoiler]Like the part when Tony is taken hostage, he could easily have been killed off without it "disrupting" the series since they've done that sort of thing all the time[/hide]

Ah, the Simpsons parody of 24 tonight...At 8 PM EST for me, at least. Should be good... :D

And tomorrow, the final two episodes of the real 24. This is a pretty good weekend for 24 fans...(Last night, there was 9 episodes of 24, although 4 were shown twice)

If I missed an episode, I would do the same. But I don't miss episodes, if I know there's a chance that I will, I ask all my friends to record it as well as recording it myself. So I have back-up in case my recording thing doesn't work.

But yeah...You really don't want to spoil the season, even an episode. It's 1/24th of the season...1/24th of the plot.

It's a normal dial on Cisco networked phones.

Regardless, it's obviously a hint at 24 just like the fact that everyone was using cellphones.

I have to say, that was the WORST last episode of a season of 24 so far.

[hide]

I mean...The ending doesn't really make me want to watch season 7. Who cares if Jack leaves Audrey for good... I'm actually happy, Audrey was really annoying...

But if my sister is correct...She noticed an item in the water. It looked kind of like the sub-circuit board, apparently. What if Jack takes it, and goes to China or Russia and does something weird? Now THAT would make me want to watch.

Otherwise...I knew Chloe was pregnant when she collapsed. It was pretty obvious, but now...Who's baby is it...Milo or Morris?

Obviously, Jack was going to save Josh and leave right before the platform blew up. The only surprise was Jack's dad dying...Or did he live? :-$

Overall, I suppose the EPISODE was good. The ENDING of the episode was NOT.

And by the way, when they showed Jack leaning on the rail and then the water, I thought he was going to jump over and commit suicide. [/hide]

A hint? It was a parody of 24, any other dial tone wouldn't have worked.

Anyways, all I can say about the seasons finale is long ending is loooooooooooong.
