Dharockslayer
Well when I was 12, I didnt really have that much issues or problems wich needed thinking about. The only thing what needed worrying was really getting more cool to get more 'friends'. In these 4 years Ive learned to think about everyday stuff, friends are important, but quality beats quantity. I often think about myself. Now if I did this at 12 years, I would be called a *bleep* and a *bleeping bleep who bleeps his bleep* . And I would care because other people said that. Now I dont give one bit about ones opinion, unless they are true and well constructed. When I first look at someone I see a blanco empty thing, its when they open their mouth is when I draw my opinion. Often you can see if one is 12 years old by listening to them. No offense to mature twelve year olds. I dont find them immature. I find them 'less mature'. Interrested in joining the cabbagy madness? RayOxide
Most kids that age are utter idiots. I mean, look at the majority of posters here within that age limit. There are few people far in between that age that I can stand to have a good conversation with. Lol, may I say, I am 12, I say I'm 16 to be taken seriously. I am not an utter idiot, but at my school 75% of the 12 year olds are. I find that if I feel like it, I can have a very intelligent conversation with anyone, at any time. As long as it's a decent conversation. Not one of those "I'm hell better thsn you" With bad english and grammar. As you probably don't know, At my age, my IQ is above above average... \ As long as you said "Most kids" then I'm fine with that. And majority of kids that are smart enough to not be complete idiots, and act like 5 year old babies then you'll find we can be quite mature. Except for the SELF PROCLAIMED "Cool people" That noone likes, but they think everyone likes them, but they don't and probably never will. I dont need a siggy no moar. KingWenlok
Age does have a significant factor on maturity. In most cases, the child's brain has not developed intellectually enough in order to engage in intelligent conversation. However, some brains develop faster than others, so it is entirely possible for an 8 year old to have superior intelligence to a 32 year old, but these cases are in the rarity. Therefore people stereotype. Stereotyping a certain group of people is based on picking out the majority and focusing on it. It neglects the minority, thus causing different views to conflict. I'm 13, and I have little care about the stereotyping of younger children. In fact, it makes things much more interesting, as stereotypes allow debates to occur. Debating issues is fascinating (especially religion). It allows individuals to express their beliefs on certain subjects to either be agreed or disagreed with, in perfectly sensible conversation. Yes, there is the odd idiot who will bash an opinion, blatantly refusing to give constructive input to the topic, but this doesn't happen as often as you would think. As for having difficulty in conversing with younger children, I understand what you mean. I largely prefer talking to adults, who are generally far more mature than my own peer group. Actually, my peer group is full of blabbering, immature idiots who are unable to understand the difference between they're, their, there, your, you're, too, to and two. And to think, my class is supposedly the smartest stream in Year 9! Either grammatical standards are dropping to mathematical and scientific skills or people have simply gotten dumber. All I do is get bullied for having the intelligence to type 'you.' And yes, discriminating adults happens quite often too. RuneScape is a prime example of it, with things like "omg u adutl u to oald u hav no lif!" It all comes down to jealousy of the adult being more intelligent than they are. And majority of kids that are smart enough to not be complete idiots, and act like 5 year old babies then you'll find we can be quite mature. Didn't you just technically stereotype 5 year olds?
