May 23, 200719 yr I say we need to keep the editor on a strict weekly post :) btw where was last weekd artical? The following statement is true. The previous statement is false. 60% of all statistics are made up 90% of the time andrew i love you & want you to have my babys!!! Finally, I get to save the Earth with deadly lasers instead of deadly slide shows!
May 24, 200719 yr I think the editor should keep doing what he/she's doing. it works pretty well. It seem like whenever there's an article made by someone else, it just gets a lot of negative. I don't want to see that week after week. just stick with the norm.
May 24, 200719 yr Not really, I'm getting tired of reading what the editor has to say. (Most is just random jumbles of things that really have no impact on RS at all. EX:The ditch of stupidity article. Was it really necessary to write a full page about it? Nope, i's just a little update that doesn't do much for anything. I could go on with tons of articles (but I just don't really feel ike wasting my day :-$ ) P.S. I'm not bashing the editor, I'm just saying that writing a page in a weeks notice isn't exactly the easiest thing. (especially when you've been doing it for dozens of weeks) I personally think the editor just needs a break :-X Dont know if any other think this, but it's just my personal opinion (and I'd like to see what people have to say/disagree with) EDIT! I say we need to keep the editor on a strict weekly post :) btw where was last weekd artical? This is the exact thing I'm talking about. Maybe the editor just needed a break. (working him to the bone guys!) Just reminds me of the RS community, always wanting updates but complaining when they dont come every week/their not that good. YOU! ATTEND TET EVENTS! CLICK HERE!
May 24, 200719 yr NO. I prefer a professional looking article over a few letters to the editor. Letters to the editor are often filler, and are junk. Having letters to the editor 75% of the time is waaaaaay too often. If your writers feel overworked, then make it biweekly, whatever. BUT NOT 3 WEEKS OUT OF 4! My MOD Queue and MODs - StarTrekGuide
May 25, 200719 yr I know the point of the poll isn't about whether or not we want the Times to go monthly, but this just has to be said: Don't you dare make the Times monthly!!!! Ok, now that I'm over that... I've only become very interested in the Times in the past few months, and in that time I've already read nearly every past article there is, and to date, I haven't come across an article I didn't like. But if the Editor is getting tired of writing every week (which I fully understand), letters are just not the way to go. I recently attended the MSSW2, and when we hopped over the Ditch of Stupidity and everyone suddenly spread out, my jaw literally dropped at seeing the massive number of Tip It̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ers who has shown up. Of all those people, and the many more who couldn't make it, I'm sure there's enough creative ideas to keep the Times running on a weekly basis and still give the Editor a break. I think a lot of people read the Times every week and never think "Hey, I could do that!" I know I didn't until just two weeks ago. If you were to announce more openly that anyone is welcome to submit an article, I'm sure Tip It̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ers would step up to the challenge and keep the Times running nearly weekly. I know I plan to do my part as soon as I get through the three or four essays and other large pieces of homework I have due right now. If it comes to it, I'm sure I could supply you with a good quality article every month.
May 25, 200719 yr I support the idea of publishing the Tip.it Times monthly. The other three weeks don't necessarily need to be filled in with Letters to the Editor but it can also be filled in with guest articles written by various forum users, especially on topics that are considered controversial. Controversy polarizes people and this helps generate discussion on the article, even though at times the discussion elevates into flame wars. Knowledge is Power; a Tip.it guide answers many commonly asked questions.~Celestrana: Making of a Hero ~ (Visit my blog, today!)
May 26, 200719 yr This is for you, Brodie... I'm well aware of that page, thanks. What I was saying was that for a long time it had never even occurred to me to submit an article. I think that if the idea was more widely publicized, then a lot more people would submit good quality articles.
