For several reasons. 1st: its the funnest skill for me, i love lvling it 2nd: lets face it, its easy to lose your money now adays, scamming, fluctuation prices, hacking. My point is that i could make all this money, buy a few rares and have them all stolen. There is one thing that can never be stole tho, and thats xp and lvls. I reather have this nice beautiful cape that lets anyone know that sees me that i know how this game works and im no stranger to money. So even if i get hacked or die or whatever, ill always have a perminent sysmbol of wealth to wear proudly on my back. 3rd: its a rare skill cape, in a game where 99% of the populas is after one skill cape or another, i want something that stands out. I s'pose I can throw a few pointers your way: - Personally, I just bought the planks for 99 and didn't bother planking them. It's really a matter of which you have a higher tolerance for - planking logs or runecrafting. What it comes down to, is that they will probably take the same amount of time. But one way (buying all the planks instead of buying logs) gets you more runecrafting experience. When I was aiming for 99 construction, I didn't have 91 runecrafting yet. So I just thought, "Hey! This is a great opportunity to get a head start on 91 runecrafting!" But if runecrafting is something you loath, then sticking to planking your own logs might be better. - Make oak larders until level 74. Once you hit 74, then start on oak doors (in the dungeon). In my personal experience, they're about 50k xp faster per hour (my maximum with oak doors was 250k xp per hour). - Make sure that you're constantly building and never just standing around. For example, when you're making larders, you should have enough planks in your inventory to make three larders. But if you make all three, then send your butler back to the bank, you'll be standing around for like 7 seconds waiting for him. Instead, build two larders, THEN send the butler to the bank and build the third while he's gone. It sounds kind of silly, but all that waiting around certainly adds up to losing a lot of xp~! Paying the buttler. I calculated a 11m fee for making all my logs into planks. That is to say, i tele edge, grab a load full of logs, tele house, have the buttler convert them into planks, make all the oak larders, then tele edge ect. Is this far to slow? Should i have the buttler get the logs from the bank too? this would double the cost to 22 million which means that i may as well just buy the planks. I have scene a vid on youtube of a guy with 2k noted planks in his dungion, making oak doors while his buttler unoted the planks. I gess i could have noted oak logs and have them unoted them and then make them into planks... all in all, i gess i may as well spend a few more weeks rcing and just by the planks. any thought or comments? You either have to bore yourself to death doing it manually (which I consider a waste of time, because I'd rather be getting runecrafting experience then walking back and forth and getting NO experience). Or pay the butler to do it and boost the cost up so high that you might as well just buy the planks anyway! :wall: I just saw that you plan on getting 91 runecrafting. Spending a few extra weeks just buying the planks will give you a reason to runecraft. Whereas after 99 construction, you'll be less motivated to get 91. Whereas if you do it now, you're using that skill to help achieve an even bigger goal. dynastyfan0 Posted May 23, 2007 Author Share Posted May 23, 2007 That is o so true, rcing is easy, if i have something really nice to look foward to : My origion plan was to make all the money over summer break, which would limit me to 80 days. basically 3 hours a day inbetween work swim practice and other stuff. I gess i can afford to wait a few more weeks to make up the other cash, but my parents (as they should) limit my play to weekends and school holidays. If you want, you could try out planking for a few days and see how it goes. In the end, it usually just comes down to personal preferences and I just can't stand planking :XD: But you may feel differently. Ill get off school on friday where ill sell all my items of value and stock up on 100k pure essence and 3000 super energies. I have also discussed w/ some of my rl friends about planks 1k or 2k logs into planks for me so i can see if i like unnoting planks.
