if you don't know what this means its when something internally in your xbox 360 messes up and you have to send your console in to microsoft to get it repaired.

 

 

 

i just got this horrific thing i just wanna know people past experiences remedys, frustrations and opinions on this extreme irritation that happens to almost every xbox eventually

ps3 is way to pricey and since the repair is free postage and all i'm not too fussed aslong as this is the only time it happens. personally i hate playstation because xbox is more multiplayer friendly

only thing wrong with the ps3 right now (excluding price) is the online system, it just dosent compete with Xbox live. Im sure once Sony sort out these problems (the fact that you have to exit a game to read a message is very anoying) it will be the best console available in around a year.

Why does every thread about any console get turned into a console war thread? Forget discussing the point that the thread creator brought up or even answering to his post. Let's all just talk about why the PS3 pwns (which it doesn't).

 

 

 

Anyway, my friend was being extremely stupid and when he decided to bring his 360 over to a friends, he put it in a gift bag. Long story short, the gift bag broke outside of the house and the 360 did this slow-motion fall to the ground. We plug it in to find the 3 flashing lights of doom. He got exchanged for free and had a new 360 pretty fast. For the most part, if you take care of your 360 it's not going to die. There definitely is a higher rate of failure for the console than for PS3 but, in my opinion, the pros still outweigh the cons of the 360 versus PS3. All in all, it still boils down to opinion.

I've got the three rings of death, just sent it in and got a new one. I don't really care about the rings because you can just get it fixed. Not like 2 weeks of not having your 360 going to kill ya.

and for the ppl that say ps3 is more reliable you have no clue what your talking about, since the ps3 has much more bugs at lunch then the 360 ever did, its lame online play wasnt up and running fully, live was up for years, more games for the 360, all the games that are for both the 360 and ps3 that arnt out already wont be out for about a year or less, ant its 600$ not worth it when you can pay 400$ for a 360 thats 100% more reliable in ever field

as fare as i know doing the towel thing wont void your warranty since your not talking it apart in anyway, all you do is wrap it with a towel turn it on for few mins turn off let it cool down so the glue remelts

 

 

 

and that does not void the warranty in anyway at all, how take your 360 apart complete like i did when i painted it that voids it

Was i the only one who misread towel trick for trowel trick :shock: now that would invalidate some warranty.

 

 

 

OT - microsoft do sure know how to scare customers - first the BSOD, now the red lights, gota love em.

Eh, don't worry about it. As long as you still have the warrenty (Which has extended to a year, no matter what version you've bought) just send it in to MS and get a new one. :)

Well if you're talking about the Playstation 2 (Not 1 or 3) and the Original Xbox, you are correct! (Ding, ding, ding)

 

 

 

However that is stupidly off topic, and is hardly more than spam. However If you are trying to say that you like the PS3 more than the Xbox 360 that is much more on topic.

I'm pretty sure that GoW has been voted as a better game than Resistance at Gamevideos, EGM, 1UP, Gametrailers, and a few other places. I have never seen one place where people liked Resistance better than GoW (Where people have played both games.)

 

 

 

Also GoW is not a copy of Resistance, there are several different elements, and it plays like an entirely different game. Because it is.

Mine when red lighted because it overheated, is that what's happening to you? If so - just move it somewhere else so it's not being really hot all the time.

Hasn't happened to me yet, and I have had my 360 for about 1 year and 2 months. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones so far. Hopefully i won't get them soon.
