June 7, 200719 yr I can't see past Life of Brian. I can watch it over and over and it will have me in stitches every time. And for a more modern one I would have to say Shaun of the Dead. Its brilliant - *the world is being taken over by zombies* "oh no what shall we do?", "...Winchester?"

June 8, 200719 yr There are so many, but these are a few of my favourites... His Girl Friday, The Philadelphia Story - the screwball comedy genre in general. Some Like It Hot Arsenic and Old Lace - I have never ever laughed so hard and so genuinely with a comedy film. The Trouble With Harry The Fearless Vampire Killers Dr Strangelove 8 Femmes, not strictly comedy, but it has hilarious parts. Stolen from How2PK's list: The Bride of Frankenstein Pirates of the Caribbean Charade

Perhaps a bit late (you most likely know this already), but if you're not informed you're missing out: Are you known with/have you seen the movies of, Preston Sturges? If you're into screwball you can't miss them. :) Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!

I liked it a lot, but kinda forgot about it  (couldn't appreciate the oldies as much back then, young and silly, you know). I think I'll make it up next time I order my bag of goodies at Amazon, so any tips for his must-see's are very welcome.

I haven't seen them all, but what I've seen, it's all very good. And 7 movies for that money isn't that bad. But if that's a bit too much, just go for the abosolute top material: Sullivan's Travels, The Lady Eve, Unfaithfully Yours, The Palm Beach Story. But if you're a sucker for Screwball, just get the box. :) Have you seen Trouble in Paradise and To be Or Not to Be by the way? You'll love Lubitsch, I think.
