TotalTalker
Hey guys, Whether the music that you listen to is heavy rock, or country music, does music completely change the way you thing about things? For example, if you was in an angry mood, and you listen to your favourtite music, that makes you think about life, do you start to change your feelings? And maybe forgive the people that you are angry with? My favourite band is oasis, and i am currently (or at least was) listening to cigarettes and alcohol, then slide away, and i think that these are possibly the two songs that make you think about life, and change your mood the most. I dont know whether you've heard these songs or not, but they have changed my views and moods on lots of different things and people. Discuss please, share you comments. Bubsa
Music and Movies board? But most definately, listening to music is very often the catalyst for many things I do. You picked some good examples there, they do make you contemplate. The same way Eminem might motivate someone before sport, or a piece by Mozart can help relax (or equally inspire). I couldn't imagine doing nearly anything without music. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.

It can improve your game aswell.
Satenza
Of course it does, the music i like always affects some part of my thinking. Whether thats emotional, political or whatever. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
Chocobodude0
Yeah, this is gonna get moved. But yeah, it does. I listen to rap (not the mainstream stuff about money and prostitution), and ever since I started, it helped my mind blossom. I learned about stuff happening right around the corner, that's being completely ignored. It also gives me hope that those issues qwill one day be acknowleged and resolved. Ragen
Moving to movies and music. Yes music really does inspire me. It's the love of my life right now, I'm totally absorbed in all genres and playing guitar. It's inspired me in other things as well, mainly the way I see life. Getting 'pumped up' by a song is rarity for me nowadays, I tend to feel more relaxed and feel good; even with the super heavy metal. I make a point of listening to pieces of classical music just before any important sporting events. I find that it helps me focus, relax and find 'the zone' I like to be in when I'm about to go for it. Thanks Venomai for this super sig and Kwimbob for the awesome avatar! Somnambulism
Listening to either Bad Religion or the more politically-motivated NOFX stuff inspires me. Diesel
Yes, I listen to music not only to inspire me, but to pump me up. I play high school volleyball for my school and before the game I listen to a certain playlist to focus my energy and relax my nerves. It really helps me play my best every game. O by the way, I'm, a beast at volleyball 8-) . Last.Fm My Bloggy Proud to have served on Tip.it Crew

Sir_Alex85
Aye. I also listen to different things when it comes to my mood. I was tired this morning, so my bus ride got King Crimson, and coming home it got Megadeth and Judas Priest. Some certain parts of songs inspire me to go do things. Fun things. Like drawing. And lemme tell ya, drawing is preetty dope. It really has
Lateralus
The final two minutes of Lateralus by Tool is probably the most positive and inspiring thing I've heard. La lune ne garde aucune rancune.

Nadril
The final two minutes of Lateralus by Tool is probably the most positive and inspiring thing I've heard. Likewise the final moments of "the wonderous world of punt" by Therion feels the same way to me. Its incredibly uplifiting and blew me away the first time I heard it. Music deffinitly motivates me. I have a large variaity of metal on my PC which can put me into all sort of moods. The guitar solo at the begining of Afraid to shoot strangers by Iron maiden gives me shivers and I can not help but headbang. Its so entergetic. But likewise the album from animus if listened to in solitude can really make me think about things. Its so depressing but the music behind it all is amazing. Stuff such as dream theater's epics A change of seasons and octavarium seem to put me on a roller coaster and truely deserve to be called epic. The first time I heard octavarium I was just grinding in lineage II and I had to stop everything, mute ventrillo and turn it up as high as I can. Honestly I could go on for hours. I haven't listened to music for long but it really does help especialy for setting the mood or the tone of something I am working on. 95% of the time my inspiration for an art piece will be from a song or collection of songs. wakka102
well my music relaxes me (even though most people wouldn't find metal relaxing) and when I've got a huge adrenaline rush it helps release it for me :) .
cocacolabottle
I can't imagine living without music, offcourse it inspires me for nearly everything; Always get my adrenaline rushing listening to some Motley Crue songs before skateboarding, or relax to some of the accoustic Led Zeppelin stuff (their best songs are the accoustic ones in my opinion) or the Beatles is also nice to get relaxed. I think about music like 16 hours a day, everytime I'm listening to my MP3 player while heading for the busstop and stuff I always picture that it's me and the band playing the song I'm listening to heh, does anybody else do that too? 99 Slayer since August 2007. Striker6
Yes most people are inspired by music, think of all the different genres and the different stereotypes of people that slot into them. Although you could argue that is just following a trend...

Whenever I play songs like The Patient or 46 & 2 on guitar I just get transported to another dimension. It rocks. The flow that they can get out of music is rediculous. Take The Patient, for example; It's in 5/4 time and it's smooth as bloody silk to play. =P~ Can't get enough. Always gotta have my daily injection of tool. TotalTalker
Thanks for all your psts guys. I think that oasis-slide away is possibly the most inspirational song. I only discovered it yesterday, and its one of my favourite songs now. That usually happens when i listen to oasis, it trurns out to be a song that ive heard before, and its an awesomly cool song.
