Golvellius
I use to help people on quests. But, then I learned that most people just want me to hold their hand and walk them through it. That gets old real fast and wastes my time. So, now I only answer a question or 2 (if im in the mood) and if Idk then I say lookup quest help on Jagex website. Exclusive Legacy Mode Player He just successfully trolled you with "courtesy" and managed to get a reaction out of you. Lol
WookieeMania12
From my experiance it isn't worth it on an online game as 9/10 times you'll be on the recieving end of abuse which is quite nasty. Oh.... so that means that we should verbally abuse idiots and be worse than noobs themselves. People can be rude but you could be worse if you call them a noob and start in pointless fights. Best thing to handle this is to use the ignore list and if they are pushing the line, report them without a word. I seemed to have noticed that people can become the very thing they despise the most (verbal abusive people) We should euthanize anyone who lacks the capability to contribute to society in any way. Please don't elect this man for president in 2012
sohkmj1
NO! 99.9% of the runescape populations lies, cheats and steals without thinking twice. The quality of the people playing runescape divebombed after rs2 was released and sunk even further with the miniclip generation. I am a nice person and I try so hard to help people but this week I have given up. Every single person I have helped on RS2 has tried to use me to get free stuff. Just today 2 people I thought I knew well showed their true colours. The only friends I have made since starting rs2 are high level, older players. I couldn't give a damn about people's level but it seems anyone lower than you does, and sees you as a target for their greed and nothing more. i see that 99,9% of tif'ers also lie right? We are the 0.1% that don't lie cheat and steal

berbatovsky
If in real life you saw two people calling each other idiots infront of a shop or something would you do anything? No. Leave it. That's not even being nice, its being nice FOR YOUR OWN SAKE, YOU don't like people yelling so YOU want them to stop, YOU comitted a selfish act, not an act of altruistic kindness. Shuh. Razoid
Yes, It is right to be Nice to people. Im nice to people because i want to be nice to them, I think if your only nice to people because you think you'll be rewarded with "Karma" or people will give you things then there's no point actually doing the good deed. I think that the only way to be truly nice is to give without thought of reward, i give things, offer new playershelp and am generally nice for the feeling it gives you inside and the fact that you've brought some happiness to that person, In real life or ingame. I think that people should offer help to everyone because i belive that excluding people is wrong, i think that even if there being rude you should still try to be as Nice as possilble. Being Nice is a great thing to do and people should attempt to be nice to everyone without thought of reward. Got Xbox Live? revanlives
No, it is never worth it to help someone. 9/10 won't say ty, many of them want you to waste hours of your own time just because they don't want to spend 2 secs finding a guide and actually thinking about it, and most just keep asking for more and more after you help them do 1 thing. But for those of you who think it is worth it, all you can hope for is that one day at least 1 person out of all the noobs returns the favor by helping another noob someday. PastyGangsta
I am nice to some new players that just got off tutorial island, they are always happy about it and so am I. I dont really announce it though cause then people will expect me to give them a free set of mith or 10k. I hate beggers so I only give to people that are not expecting it, or just ask me like how much something costs (not begging) and ill give them what they want, free. :D Im just a nice guy I guess... :

wurmskin
YES! you always neeb to be nice. I agree with you completely :) . I seem to value kindness above everything in RS, so yes, I think its definately worth it. It always feels good when somebody who you've never met before does something nice for you out of the blue. And that said; it dosen't matter how small or big. It just sucks how majority of the RS population isn't . OFF TOPIC: P.S. Whenever I help someone, I get this strange feeling in my stomach. No, wait. That's just constipation setting in. Excuse me for a while :uhh: ... ^ Refresh for a new signature ^

But that's not the question. The question is is it worth being nice? I feel that it's starting to be a pain to be nice because I put the time in to help somebody then they go off and call me a noob or don't even thank me. With people like that, it's no wonder why people don't help anymore.

aquariusman
I am nice for one simple reason, other than the fact that it is who I am. On either my current account or my past account (Yofreddie, hacked a year or two ago) I was simply walking around around Varrock square in full addy at level 40-56. All of a sudden, a higher leveled player tells me to trade my full addy, while taking off his full rune. I put two and two together and figure it's worth a shot. So we swap armour sets, with me getting full rune for my full addy. I was thrilled. I sold the plate, seeing as I could not wear it due to my incomplete Dragon Slayer quest, bought a rune battle axe and lobsters to fund the trip there and killed Elvarg. Now I help players with a hope similar to something the main character in the movie Pay it Forward did. That my helping of someone I either do or do not know will cause them to help someone else in return, sparking a chain of kindness that I would like to spread to the real world. It's like everyone in the world doing something small like replacing an incandescant bulb with a flourescent bulb. Each of those bulbs is a bit more efficient than an incandescant bulb. It's aninsignificant amount, but when you do something small over and over again, it builds up until it reaches significance. There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. Thatregret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new, better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret. It's experience. Lemurian
I once met a fellah at Pest Control. He was around level 80 and I had just had 3 months of Membership. He asked to borrow 50k because he was gonna buy himself a Dragon Longsword. We had had some good rounds together and I decided "Why not?". I opened the tradescreen and gave him the money. Then, he opened another trade and offered 200k! I accepted of course, and we became good friends after that. I believe in helping people, but I do not give everyone what they wish from me unless I know them very well. Owner of Quest Cape since 11/9/2007 23:30! Working my butt off to get it back.
