Well personally I think 1315 Steel Drags is a rather nice amount. It ain't 20k like you said, but Steel dragons are also harder to kill and have higher drop rate of dragon legs/skirts/halfs than whips from abby demons I guess.

 

 

 

1315 steel dragons with no drop compared to 400 with 5 drops, seems to be clear enough? And even that is a rather decent amount of monsters tbh.

I always thought that this was something Jagex could do if they felt they wanted to increase Slayer's popularity. Obviously limiting drops to ONLY Slayer is too extreme, but I always felt that a Ring of Wealth type effect (that stacks with a Ring of Wealth) during Slayer tasks would be nice.

I'm sorry but I dont agree, I got a dragon chain from dust devils not on a task, been there 4-5 times after that on a task and haven't gotten it :(

Drops are all random and the drop rate doesn't increase while doing slayer tasks. I have killed over thousands of iron and steel drags as slayer tasks and have NOT once gotten a single dragon item from them.

 

 

 

I've never really counted how many whips I've gotten during slayer tasks but I do know that there were times that I have not gotten a whip drop while on slayer assignment.

 

 

 

Jagex knows what they are talking about and I believe them. No reason not to.

i believe you and jagex mods dont always agree such as before luring was illegal no mods would give you the same answer to what jagex's stand was on it

I'm sorry to interfere with you, the overall drop rate of d chains from dust devils is so small, that if there would be a difference in drop rate with slayer tasks that it would only be very different from a non slayer task, just because on a normal occasion of a d chain from dusties is 1 in thousands. In this discussion I think it's best to take item's that have a drop rate of probably no more than 1:500, then you should be able to see a difference, but with items that usually have a drop rate of let's say 1:20000 it's very hard to say whether the task makes a difference or not. I hope you still understand me lol :P

I disagree. The amount of drops, even when on a Slayer task, is totally random.

 

 

 

I was assigned to slay Banshees several times and not once did I get a Mystic drop. If you happen to get more drops during a Slayer task, then you were just lucky. :|

It really dosen't matter. If you're smart, you know by now that slayer is the best way to train combat. If you get a good drop, great. If you get a good drop while you aren't on assignment, then great. Jagex said that there's no correlation and that should be the end of discussion.

It seems to be that way for me. I killed probably 200 iron and 50 steel dragons off task. No luck. I get a task of 15 steels, second kill is legs.

Maybe what you're talking about has something to do with the monster's levels...I mean...every monster in the game drops a sheild left half...anyone ever gotten one from a level less than 150? I doubt it...I think monsters level has a lot to do with it...as for slayer task or not...I'm undecided.

 

 

 

The thing I know now is: All you high levels talking about slayer really makes me want to do it.

but im not sure, ive had some tasks where i came out 200kgp richer from about 150 killed, and the in some tasks i have come out with a few runes and 20k gp. it all just depends. I think its random, but i guess we will never know.

 

 

 

i guess im going to have to do my next iron/steel dragon task instead of burthoping. i think i even have some anti-fires...

iv gone to jellies for clues without a slayer task, and only got a clue after a cople of trips, but when i killed them for slayer, like the first 3 i got one :)

Nah, i haven't noticed a big difference.

 

 

 

In fact, I often get a good drop with my "one for luck" kill, after I'm actually finished the task lol.

I think when for instance killing Metals you just kill them in small numbers and think of just finishing your task, not killing tons and hoping for dragon, so when dragon comes it seems like less kills, even though you have killed plenty, in small doses.

 

 

 

As for other tasks, i never get whips on assignments, but get them like nothing just killing.

So Steel dragons with and without slayer, Dagganoth Kings with and without slayer etc. Also btw 3 years ago on my other acc (tijger2099) I got a shield left half from a fire giant (that's lvl below 150 :P). I was only p2p for a few days and, I had them ASSIGNED for slayer, I got it after the 40th drop, and these were actually the first fire giants I had ever killed, since before that I was f2p.

And I could think of way more stranger rumors that I've heard in the past, such as that you would get better drops when your memerbship would below 3 days to stimulate to stay p2p, than this slayer thing seems to be much more trustworthy tbh.
