Customizable armour is armour that you buy from a proffesional smither. There you can buy colors and lots of features. The armor starts off gray until you buy colors. It cannot be smithed by players but is tradeable. And to let people know what it looks like it's just regular armour exept it multiplated armour extending from the shoulder pads.(like roman armour)

 

 

 

Variations: Steel, Black, Mith, Addy, Rune

 

 

 

 

 

How it was made: thurgo the dwarf one day ucovered his old family armour that has been passed down since the 2nd age. He later thinks about how other people can benifit from his knowlegde before he passes on so he gets an apprentice to learn the customizable armour trade.

I think this would be a great idea, but maybe it shoulden't be able to be made or traded , and they only way to get it is by a quest?

And there are alot of scams for trimming and coloring armour... So this would make it a whoole lot easier for people to do.

 

 

 

 

 

Unless... It was made into a new skill, but it wouldn't fly well if you ask me.

Maybe also you get a different type of trim for your level or for doing a certain quest or clue or something.

 

 

 

Once again only a suggestion.

I think that the idea is good, but there are still a few rough edges that need to be improved. For example if you could trim it yourself it would be impossible to convince people the armor trimming is a scam. There are some other flaws but other than that i think its a good idea. If you can fix the scam parts you can put me down as a supporter. :thumbsup:

Another idea would be to make it easily distinguishable from the trails armor we have now, and to add some things to Tutorial Island. Basically a tutor that informs the player of the more common scams (armor trimming, rare items, etc.) and how to watch for them. Would also be a good oprotunity to inform the player about the "Report Abuse" button. ;) There's only one real question however. Will the changes be cosmetic only, or will it be able to modify the abilities of the equipment? If it's the former, then It won't matter much. If it's the latter, then I can make something to help that, if you wish.

it seems to be a good idea at first, however there are a few things you'd have to address from jagex's point of view

 

 

 

1.You have there enough options for over 4000 combinations, this would lead to a massive increase in items in the game, i'm pretty sure adding 4,000 new items in one hit would place massive strain on the designers AND the server.

 

 

 

2. Along with a whole new bunch of graphics and things, they would have to spend ages formatting new animations for all the new armours, E.g cape animations, running etc.

 

 

 

3. Assuming they talk all this time to create this new armour, alot of people may not use this armour, due to there being a bunch of other armours which give better bonuses. While i concede people may wear the armour for looks, Jagex may see this idea as a waste of time.

 

 

 

HOWEVER after saying that, if this was implemented into the game, i for one would personally enjoy it :D i always wanted wings

:-k there seems to be some issues with this making it easier for armor trimming scammers. Well, you could make it so that the fancy customized armor looks like regular armor in the trade window, and you could make it so that it becomes regular armour after trading. :-k

Make it non-tradeable, and you have my vote.

i personally think the armour in the game currenlty is fine...and plus even if this is supported..the armour should not be tradable... :shame:

the way they could do this would be like the shields and helms in your poh you talk to a person (in varrock who paints your family crest on your armour

I'm not 100% on this, but I don't think it would be reasonable to implement this in game. Why?

Unless Jagex can figure out how to make it so that the item has something like interchangeable parts, it wouldn't be very feasible. But I don't think that'd be supported in a Java based game..

People would just get this instead of the TT items, possibly because certain combinations would be more aesthetically pleasing to most people. This is a waste, ppl will rarely wear it to train since there are armors that give much better bonuses and adding that many items in the game would take awhile and cause massive bank space problems.
