Fletching is an old, old skill which existed for a long time in the original Runescape (which is called RSC now). Agility is relatively young (compared to fletching), but it also existed in RSC.

So, the only NEW skills that did not exist in RSC are are slayer, farming, hunter and construction... can't think of anything else

Wasn't Herblaw and Fletching released at the same time, then Agility, then RS, Slayer, Farming, Construction, and finally, Hunter?

I don't know, but now that you mention it, agility is the only RSC skill I remember being released.

P2P forever!... Or at least 'til <insert excuse here> happens

2 people replied with the list and both are wrong #-o

it's:

rc

slayer

farming

con

hunter

Oh yeah I forgot about RC. It was also introduced after swithing to the new engine ... at least I think.... although I forgot when exactly. Over 2 years ago, that's for sure. So it makes a total of 5 "new" skills added in RS as opposed to RSC.

FROM GOD LETTERS #4 (maybe you ppl should post to postie pete for more information ::' )

Dear Saradomin,

I know there are a good amount of people who might know this question but I thought I might as well ask. I would like to know what the world of runescape was like when it was first created.

Nick Petit

Ah, a historian I see. Well I almost don't know where to begin. Which is what I said at the time, in fact. But of course it all started with Lumbridge, and the good kingdom of Misthalin. But there was no Al Kharid or Draynor village, and Edgeville was pretty deserted, so people called it Ghost Town.

The world back then was a comparatively good place. People didn't tend to wander around Lumbridge calling each other "noob", because everybody was one. Black knights were the toughest monsters, of which there were three.

The top equipment you could get was adamantite legs, mithril body, adamantite large helmet, adamantite long sword, and iron kite shield. There were no amulets.

Adventurers could, however, sink their teeth into six different quests: the Cook's Assistant, the Restless Ghost, Demon Slayer, Shield of Arrav, Romeo and Juliet and Sheep Shearer.

The main skills were combat, ranged, mining and smithing. Cooking consisted only of cooking meat and bread making. Of course, families have always been divided over the issue of vegetables, and this was literally the case now, with many a warrior dropping dead from scurvy.

Mourning partners were in time told that there were plenty more fish in the sea, but this was of little consolation, as no-one knew how to fish yet. There was also no crafting, and Lumbridge's traditional Sunday afternoon craft fairs were a bit of a let down as a result.

Herblore and fletching were both released at different times. If I'm correct, thieving was released with members also

If I'm right, the order FROM THE BEGINNING is:

Crafting

Fishing

(banks <3: )

Woodcutting (firemaking)

MEMBERS (Thieving)

Fletching

Herblore (The Old Nite was first for that one =D)

and ya'll know the rest

Knitting. At level 1, you can make fuzzy mittens. At level 50, fuzzy rainbow sweaters. At level 99? Fuzzy pink toe socks.

Oh yeah.

'Scaper since 2002

K thx =) that's what i thought (though i didn't know about fletching)

and also i found this out from wikepedia:

Agility 12/12/01

Slayer 1/26/05

Farming 7/11/05

Construction 5/31/06

Hunter 11/21/06

That is correct except that agility was released in 2002, not 2001.

Runecrafting was released at the start of RS2 in March 2004.

Herblaw, Theiving and Fletching were released when members was launched in mid 2002.

I was there for all of the above so I am 99% sure my old brain has remembered it correctly. :P

Capone Sabre since April 2001.

99 Attack, Defence, Strength and Hitpoints Achieved January 2005. When it still meant something.

Herblore (The Old Nite was first for that one =D)

What do you mean? The Old Nite certainly was not the first one to hit 99 in herblore.

I remember very well that Shacoya was leading for a long time, and almost everyone was thinking she would be the first. But when she was already very close, Halw Gnun overtook her and started leading by a wide margine... and he was the first to reach 99.
