Sounds like you guys have a really good time and have something to look forward to on 4th of July.

I wish us Brits had something similar... :boohoo:

St. Andrew's Day? Scottish Parliament's anniversary? :P

Celebrating America's history by blowing stuff up.

That really says a lot about our country.

Haha, heck yeah! It basically says that we're awesome.

Yep, America, the land of the free, oily foods, guns and explosives! I'm really feeling patriotic now!

**** yes. :D

I just remembered I'm going to a pool party thing for the fourth.

Those are Scottish and not really celebrated... I couldn't even tell you what date St Andrews is lol (I think it's early Nov sometime).

As for the Scottish Parliament anniversary... lol, that's something to be mourned not celebrated. Those guys couldn't organise a trip to the toilet lol...

I want a Great Britain day! Magna Carta or a making a bigger deal of the Queens official birthday, or Waterloo etc...

Don't worry. The whole world is jealous of Hogmanay.

La lune ne garde aucune rancune.

I'm goin' to a barbecue with me and my whole circle (it's a BIG circle) families.

No fireworks though

(I live in AZ, and do to the natural dryness of the area, there's a lot of dead trees and the like just waitin' to catch fire. So, they're against the law, unless you're a professional) :(

Actually, you can thank Britain for bombing the hell out of Fort Sumpter in 1812. Hence, "the rocket's red glare" for the fireworks.

Firecrackers are for rednecks :P. I'd much rather enjoy a good Barbeque and watch the real rockets go off at the park than blow off a few fingers.

My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. Believe me, nothing except a battle lost can be half so melancholy as a battle won. -Sir Arthur Wellesley

We're going to get some fireworks in South Dakota and smuggle them back into Minnesota ZOMG illegals.

I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.

Me and a bunch of friends are goin up to my friend's farm. Basically just gunna set off an obscene amount of fireworks, Sobe bombs, chlorine bombs, and the traditional pylon bonfire. Good times!

Please enlighten me - what's a Sobe bomb? Do you light a bottle of Sobe(the energy drink), or is it something completely different? :-k

(Because if it's the first, then that's a waste of a damn good Sobe. I love that drink.)

Anyway, yeah, we're gonna go see the pro fireworks with friends; go there in the afternoon, eat, hang out, play football/soccer/baseball, watch fireworks, yay. I wanna set some off myself; it's illegal here, and my parents wont buy them. Even though everyone else here has them, they buy them a few cities over where it's legal...But my parents are just like that. Spoilsports :P

Yes but we are not likely to celebrate American Independence :uhh:

We have November 5th which I guess is the closest though.

Ye, it's so annoying, you can't use them there. When I lived there, only the firemen could use them because they're ZOMG dangerous.

In Finland we always set off fireworks at new years.

I don't care, I don't live in the USA.

I'll watch that movie, Licensed to wed, sometime.
