July 4, 200719 yr I would go with Smithing, since the exp for this skill peaks at about 60k per hour really. Whereas Construction is somewhat higher, and frankly, costs a little less if you use oak planks.

July 4, 200719 yr Interesting views.... Smithing is a good cash maker yes? It can be if you don't mind taking ages to get to lvl 99. Profitable would mean smithing bars into things like knives and cannonballs and selling for a profit. Typically you don't make more than 20-30k experience per hour this way. So although it's profitable, it will take a long long time. The most popular (but expensive method), is to use the smithing gauntlets when smelting gold ore. You earn 56 exp per smelt, so 60k experience per hour is average then. However, this would cost about 500k cash per hour to maintain. It's still more expensive than construction since an oak plank costs 400gp (to buy) and earns 60exp whilst smelting gold costs 500gp (to buy) and earns 56exp. That's why I think smithing would be more impressive

Like, make 2k steel bars into c balls (sell for 1.6 mil) then buy 2k gold ore with that cash (1 mil) then use the 600k left for more steel bars? That looks quite good.... Another popular method is buying iron bars and making them into throwing knives. Despite being lower exp per bar, it's actuall much better experience than making cannonballs, since the animation for that is awfully slow... you'll see what I mean if you try it. :)

Faster XP =) Iron knives only be 40 gp ea? 5 per bar = 200 gp per bar, if I buy the bars (folk sleling 250 ea :uhh:) thats 50 gp lost per bar.... July 5, 200719 yr Ive never seen anyone with a smithing cape yet. Wait...ive never seen construction capes either....But i wud respect a 99 smither more. Its a lot more work and dedication to get there in my opinion. \ Life is a joke. Yeah, I don't get it either.

July 5, 200719 yr Smithing wont make money, youll lose money if you want to lvl at a decent speed. So you couldn't buy con with smithing money. Id say smithing is more impressive considering its around 3x as slow exp
