Productive/cost effective alternatives to PC

Featured Replies

Hi there everyone,

I am seeking out a way to train combat without using pest control. I would like to avoid using copious amounts of prayer potions, which I assume would be necessary if Dharoking. What would be the most effective way to gain combat experience outside of pest control?

thanks, tommy

I suggest you just train Slayer and the combat Xp will come with it as well as the Slayer Xp (not to mention some decent Slayer drops at later levels).

gorrilas at the ape temple..u can dharok without p pots bc of altar. or slayer. i especially recomend slayer..yesterday my brother got 2 d skirts 6min inbetween ea other. which definently pays for the addy bolts and antifires.

Americans love to fight. All real Americans love the sting of battle.

Im slightly biased towards slayer, but id say slayer has the largest range so its harder to get bored :XD:

sorry for not putting in this help and advice forum

anyway I know there are many "decent" ways of training combat

axe hut in wildy, hobgoblins, trolls, desert bandits, etc.

if i we ignore the drops, and slayer option, is there anything with an experience rate comparable to pc?

Tommyolson2.gif

if you dont want to do slayer then dhariking at ape atoll is fast xp, but if you dont care about drops and slayer xp, why not just do pc?

There are three sides to every story: There's one side, there's the other, and there's the truth.

Desert bandits with a god cape beside guthix and they auto attack have auto retaliate on and you'll be owning them.

Skeletons in dt dungeon. 100k/hr (incl hp) there easily with salve (e).

Why PC when you can afk \'

so the two fastest methods are dh-ing gorillas and desert bandits still?

and wouldnt skelles in dt dungeon require prayer?(i've cant remember what equipment i would need for them)

Use black mask as well to speed slayer up.

No, not if you train where the red squares are:

Just bring guthans or food. They don't hit too much. I got 99 att and 97 def here.

Map obviously taken from tip.it

guthans wouldnt be an option for me lol, so your saying i wouldnt get hit much wearing d legs and torso?

and thanx a lot guys, this is great :D

Slayer. 8-)

In Soviet Russia, glass eats OTers.

Not too much, but you might wanna take a shield instead of defender so you don't keep running to the bank. Also, keep an eye out for construction bones. I've got over 100k cons exp from them :D

Wouldnt removing my defender seriously cut down my experience per hour? (i dont have the money for a dragonfire shield)

I don't know, I always used this setup:

thanks for the excellent tips guys, a few more questions, would bones to peaches be a viable option for the dt skelles? and how do these skeles compare to the options in gonpost's guide?

That would work.... To bad theres a bunch of hostile poisonous spiders.

They drop big bones, so can't do peaches here. Also, with an enchanted salve (he used regular), you will obviously get much more than 57k (or whatver it was). The biggest advantage here is that you can easily afk.

Mossies are good until lvl 90+ combat... then noobs start asking you for food and money... then go to fire giants or whatever (better if your training range...)

I personally would just use Pest Control :P
