dberg20
This is a simple update that could take place on the website, and could seriously cut down on bots. This would use CAPTCHA (Completly Automated Public Turing Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart), which would have to be entered whenever you register to prevent bots from registering. This of course isn't foolproof because bots can use image and shape recognition to go around it, but it would slow them down. And it isn't too hard to type it in for a legit player, an example is: Guide to Making a Foolproof RuneScape Password
darkpoet837
I support. Most websites DO have this when you regester, so why doesnt runescape? :-k [hide]Come, be my light.Mingle with my darknessMay we mix to createOur own twilight sunsetThe dusk breezeSpreading cloudsOn our murky horizon~Darkpoet837~[/hide]
nomar04
I'm sorry, but this won't work at all. Java bots can already easily figure out how to solve these problems. Another thing, is a human can just easily type in the one word, then let the macro do all the work after that. This won't work at all.
Gyroman26
you said it wouldn't work it would just slow them down. what's the point of slowing them down by a few min? they would just still come in by the hundreds
Kill_Thomas9
maybe they could have captcha simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division problems.

dberg20
Before you attempt an argument, you should know the facts. After studying a variety of programs, more than half of them have automated registry. What is the point of slowing them down? If you can't figure this out yourself, then you aren't very intelligent. Jagex is trying to ban the bots, but they keep coming back, if Jagex can improve the bots "death rate", and decrease their "birth rate", a less ratio of them will exist. And even if none of that works, which it would, I don't see any problem with typing in the code, and maybe for dyslexic people they could send a message to staff or something. iwatake
We have to find out a way to prove that this would work, though. Like any anti-bot idea. I support though, I'd think it would work. I smell a reprise of fatigue. :?
hohto
I assume you never played RSC. In the end of it there was a thing called fatigue which basically was the same thing as this. The results were so great that in the end Jagex even took away all rsc f2p worlds and stopped the ability to register to that game. Sorry, but this idea won't work and it has already been tested. I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.Name Removed by Administrator ~Turtlefemm
