  1. I already use RoW for all non Kuradel dungeon slayer tasks. I may use it on certain tasks in her slayer dungeon, like steels or abby demons, but that is about it. Furo rings are just to good to pass up, and so cheap to use.
  2. I loved EW3. In fact, the elemental workshop questline is one of my favorites, and one of the few that I will actually do the quest for. Looking at the twitter hint, though, makes me think of Celtic knots, like the ones from elite clues. If you think about it, the fact that EW3 used slider puzzles, Celtic knots are the next step up from that. I wonder if this room will require a mining level to access, if it is past those rocks blocking off the tunnel?
  3. I may be wrong here, but didn't the original reverents use the protect item prayer? If you smited them, they had a higher chance of dropping an item. I think it was in a jagex post, but I could be wrong. Can someone try that, or find the post, by chance?
  4. Ouch. I like, even if it means not being able to run back and grab a sextant/watch/compass if you get pk'ed. I have not used a sextant/watch/compass since jagex released the meerkat familiar. Even if you dont use the scrolls, a meerkat counts as all three cord clue items in your inventory. You can effectively 4 item with a teleport, the clue, a whip, and a fetchcasket scroll with a meerkat out. The only clues that will be trouble in the wild are emote clues, since you can not do an emote while you are in combat. Uri will still be the worst clue ever made >.>
  5. Awesome, a ton of questions answered, but they still have not answered one major question. What is going to happen to general stores? Are they going to go back to the way the used to be, so they can actually be useful again? Or are they going to stay like they are?
  6. I can attest that you can play runescape and still do well at college, just not as much. It also depends on how much other stuff you want to do as well, though. Personally, though, I have found that quitting is never really an option. I may stop playing for weeks, even months at a time, due to homework or life, but I always find it easy to come back and do a slayer task or two. Maybe even a solo med dungeon, if I feel like it. I guess runescape is one of my favorite ways to relax, so I may never give it up for good. And at 5 bucks a month, it really is one of my least expensive pastimes. May be a thought on how I do gaming, but who knows.
  7. Second that. How the f does this belong in GD? I put it in Off topic first, but it was moved here because it had to do with runescape. As for Madara being much beyond 85 slayer, I know that, I was just saying 85 slayer could deal with his teleportation. His other skills? Good luck RS character! The basilisk is a good example from other movies. 40 slayer, lol, HP must be higher by now.
  8. The ultimate antagonist in Naruto is Madara Uchiha. Among the high level slayer creatures, abyssal demons are up there with the requirement of 85 slayer. Why would they take the same skill level to kill? Because they use the same tactics in battle! For the longest time, Madara was believed to be dead. Now that he is back at the forefront of peoples minds, though, more and more is revealed about his abilities. His most powerful ability, though, is the ability to bend time and space to be able to teleport at will. He uses this ability to dodge almost all attacks and counterattack in ways that most opponents cannot even harm him. He can also use this ability to teleport other people into his own realm, adding to the difficulty of fighting him. Abyssal demons have the ability to teleport as well. They can also teleport you around as you are fighting them, adding to the confusion. Both of these abilities in unison make it so that most players cannot deal damage to them. It takes the skill and speed of someone with 85 slayer to even start to damage an abyssal demon. Once you obtain that level of knowledge, you learn techniques that allow you to time your hits with the demon's teleportation, allowing you to kill them. With that theory about why 85 slayer is required to kill abyssal demons in mind, one could link that ability to time your hits with teleportation to Madara's ability to teleport. So, the end result is that Madara requires 85 slayer to kill. Just don't forget, this just allows you to get past his teleport ability, you still have to deal with one hell of a fighter in combat. So the question here is, what would his other abilities mount to in rs terms? With our skills and combat abilities, do you think we would be able to take on Madara? What about other antagonists and protagonists from books, movies, or shows? Note: I was not sure if this belonged in general or off topic, so I put it here. Please move it if this is the wrong spot.
  9. Man, I am so glad I have exams and RL stuff going on this week. I get to avoid all the people when I finally try for this new beast! Defenders <3
  10. The best update there is the bank update =P
  11. I think the best example we have of good vs evil is the stealing creation activity. While not as open as some would like, the ability to pickpocket and kill other players of another team or to just skill, even the choice of protecting your team or hunting the other team's players. Honestly, I think the easiest implementation of good vs evil is to have teams, or factions. Each player chooses a faction, and players from other factions are enemies. This is the way most games do it, as it creates a sudo-good vs evil feel. This also helps create community bonds with players from your faction. I think jagex missed a really large opportunity with triumvirate, in it being something just for forums. If they would have incorporated it into the game itself, it would have been truly interesting. As it is, only rsof users will get the most out of it.
  12. About a week ago I sat by the ancient cavern whirlpool with someone I know in rs and talked for 5 hours. We did nothing but sit there and talk, gaining no xp at all. Was it a waste of time? Perhaps. Was it fun? Hell yeah, it was a blast =D. I raced that same friend in the agility arena in Brimhaven, seeing who could get to the next pillar first. There are so many ways you can have fun in rs, with or without skilling.
  13. I have noticed that most skeletons are weak to crush attacks, which makes sense as they are made of bones. This includes the mages, but they may be weak to slash as well because of the robes.
  14. My best luck based things are this: I have had 2 dragon chain drops from dusties. Not close together, but then again, I have not killed that many dustues, and nowhere near the 16k mark that the dragon chain is put at. I got a kurask task for my first task at 70 slayer. 3 kills in, I got a kurask head. On another slayer note, for my first task after the strykewyrm update, I got jungles. My third to last kill was a hexcrest. Took me about 2 weeks to get another task, though. Finally, I traded a second hexcrest for my focus sight, and made my slayer helm complete. Thank you wyrms! My strangest one was at Cockroach soldiers, where I had a rune scim drop, then a rune square, then a rune scim, and then a rune square. 4 rune drops, right in a row. I ended that trip with 3 scims and 4 alched squares, not a bad run. On the other hand, for all the metal dragons I have killed (iron and steel), I have only ever had 1 d skirt as a drop. And nothing else from them, sides clues.
  15. Ok....I am freaked out. I cant log out O.O. Every time I log out, it says I lost connection, and attempts to reconnect. And then I log in again. WTF????? Am I alone in this freaky thing?
  16. Anyone else have a broken friends list? Or is it just me? They fixed the PoH graphics glitch, thank god, my computer was running really slow on the software setting. And court cases....Not to bad, I guess, but not the best update of the month. So....Pest control quest next week?
  17. I have never had a "relationship" in the proper sense on runescape, but I have met several girls/guys and got to know them really well. Heck, I have even talked to some of them over the phone, and helped them through troubled times, and they me. One example is a girl I have known for almost as long as I have been playing, and we both know a ton about each others lives. But she lives in Europe, and I in America. Chances are, we will never meet. BF/GF relationships can work in any online medium, they just take what all relationships do. Time. Heck, even one of my good RL friends met his wife playing WoW, and have been happily married for several years now. I even know some married couples that play RS together, for fun. Nothing wrong with any of that. Now, on the subject of boys/girls/genderambiguousweirdos bugging the counterpart on rs, it is just creepy and the wrong way to go about it.

  20. Heh, just had a random thought about the award dungeons. What if the way you accessed them was through map drops in Daemonheim? Kind of like clue scrolls, these maps would be bound to the party leaders ring, and give the option of searching for a hidden entrance somewhere in the runescape world. Once found, the leader of the party and any number of the people from the party that want to join them would enter and fight through the bonus dungeon, with a real outside Dungeoneering reward at the end for all, or just one lucky party member. Any thoughts?
  21. I'd orgasm but nowadays everywhere's accessible with fairy rings or some kind of transport. soloing would be too easy Not if they made it break if you died, you would still need to run back to the grave. Also, they could make them not work in some locations (like godwars, maybe resetting counter and appearing outside boss door). This would be epic for slayer though, and that is what most people would use this for I think.
  22. I think of Nomad as a more Chaotic good Character than anything else. He may be on the side for good, but he will do anything to achieve a victory for the side of good. Even steal souls and turn to the evil side that is still less evil than his former employer. Also, I foresee him thinking of us as a better person to connect to the soul machine. Us, a 'normal' human beat him while he was holding the power of the souls. What if he gave us the souls, would we not be much more powerful than he could ever become? Could the power gained from doing this be enough for us to take on Lucien? I would say yes, as our power would come from both the souls and the fact that we touched the stone of Jas in the past, and have connections with enemies of Lucien on all sides. Slightly off topic, I think our character is slightly chaotic as well. Good or evil, we have worked for many different gods and factions, all with different intentions and beliefs. Eh, speculation aside, I can't wait to see what Jagex finally does with these huge storylines. Hope they don't write themselves into a corner, that would really suck :ohnoes:
  23. Heh, we will just have to wait and see if they release the Tome of Flame with the next Dungeoneering update  I can also see the nature and law staff in PvP combat as rune holders for teleport blocks and binds. If the staff is the protected item in +1 worlds, you can keep the runes that are held by it when you die. If this is not the case, then who knows. The +10% damage, if it does apply to f2p, will also increase the use of these staffs.
  24. I believe that they are changing the way the tokens work, so I don't know. 400k tokens for the level 80 rewards just seems stupid, IMO, and you are right about xp from other sources being useless in that case. I would feel a whole hell of a lot better about this skill if they dropped the token system all together, and just made it so you could spend xp. Not crazy amounts, of course, but say it cost 200k xp to buy one of the level 80 items, just for example. It is really the same as the system they have now, with spending tokens that take 10 xp each to get, but I don't know. D-leveling would be an issue, but with the supposed quickness of xp gain at that level, it really should not matter. This would give all xp giving events outside of the mini game a real purpose for xp in this skill, and would make it seem like the skill itself was giving us something. Any thoughts?
