  1. As a higher level SC rouge, I know your pain, and enjoy it  . Love the humor in that article =D> For the first article, I really believe fun is more important than rewards. For myself, countless quests with great rewards go unfinished, simply because I dislike questing greatly. The few quests I have done, or started, were to get access to clue scroll spots, with the elf area a glaring exception. In other words, yes, fun updates rock  .
  2. Overall, I loved this weekend. I only played for 3 hours this weekend, Friday included, so I stayed around 2X. It also made the lobby better, forming it into a pseudo break room, where you could still chat with friends while not wasting the multiplier. One thing that kind of annoyed me, though, is familiars during this time. I admit, I trained summon during this time, I would have been a fool not to. But the sheer number of familiars that I could not click on drove me nuts. Jagex really needs to update familiars with two aspects: If you click a stack of familiars with yours in it, you click yours first. Second, familiars should be like the champion imp. The little imp from the champions challenge can run, dang it, and keep up with you. Our great terrorbirds, who can give you run energy, can't run themselves. The same goes for all of them. Yes, the imps can still get stuck, but come on, they stay right behind you the entire time if able. The only thing familiars do different, or need to do different from this, is go and attack things when you order them to. Is this really asking too much?
  3. Does this work? Holy cow, that is awesome  . Did you make this? If so, could I use it for the article? I plan on submitting it to the times, if they let me. And if you made it, I would credit you of course  Edit: After looking more closely, I realized that this was from another site, lol. I guess I would just have to use it as a reference to make my own, huh? I'd go ahead and use it considering it isn't private information and, is in fact, the opposite. It was posted on the internet with the knowledge that everyone can see it. As long as you thank Truthscape for making the map at the end of beginning of your article I'm sure you'll be fine. Ok, I will do that. Or just note him himself  . Also, you are a member of the Times, right? How would I go about submitting my article when done? It will be done in a week or so ;) .

  5. Whips were right below the rares in the picture. Santas/masks were to the right of whips. Gilded and god armor was to the right of santas/masks. 3rd age was near the smith house. Furys and onyx rings, also infinity robes were near the tree patch. Karils/Ahrims was in the little fenced area in the middle of the park. Dharoks was top left of the black area in the picture, torags bottom left, Guthans top right, Veracs between guthans and dharoks. Dragon boots were at the very left of the pond. Runes were below the bank. Chins and a bit of range gear was to the left of the bank. I also remember Glories being just south of the fence, north of the bank. And cheaper yet still demanded clue scroll items being below the house with a stove. I know the map was quite extensive, which is why I would like it for a reference or perhaps a graphic for the article. Thanks you two
  6. Yeah, perhaps a bit more detailed though  . I really appreciate that though, will use it if need be  . I know Tip it used to have a really detailed one, does that one still exist?
  7. This is the pic thread, so I hope this is the correct place to post this, but could someone find me an old merchants map of Falador world 2? I am working on writing an article, and can't find that map. Would be very grateful, thanks!
  8. This could be a stupid question....but are you sure that it will be a one time buy for this? The way I read it, everyone will be able to get this task, but if you do not have a fire cape, you have to buy an 'ability' to kill them for that task. Kind of like a temporary fire enchantment. I think this would be the thing to keep it in check, and make people really want to get the fire cape. In some cases, they would HAVE to get the fire cape, because they do not have the slayer points to buy the ability. Or the slayer master would check if you have enough points to buy it before you get assigned them, but who knows. I think this would work a lot better than just a one time buy that unlocks the task for everyone. If it is just a one time buy, unlock it, then yeah, I can see the issue here. No matter how expensive they make it, it will never be as hard as getting a fire cape. I can grind anything out, even 93 slayer and 5k points, but hell if I had the abilities to get a fire cape.
  9. Wouldn't Ever flagging war be Castle wars?
  10. I can actually second this, on my abberant tasks, without the ROW i seem to get much higher herbs & seeds. I don't know if this is correct at all, but perhaps herb dropping monsters have less "no drops" on the rare tables, so using a ring of wealth could have a negative effect on herb drops by making them all more common. I have noticed this at druids a ton, you tend to get better trips without a ROW than with one.
  11. I for one, still see the use of the RoW. While it does not help increase the unique drops, the increase in gems/rune items/half keys is a good way to offset potion and food use. It helps those tasks that use expensive stuff such as pray pots or super sets feel less like a waste of cash. 20k for a loop, 60k for a tooth half, diamonds are at 17k, and alching rune items. Seems more and more worth it lately. Then again, my cash pile is below 20m and I dont boss fight, so maybe I dont have a say in this for you guys.
  12. Heh, awesome update to trading with friends. I have a ton of them on there for the max, lol. Wonder if they will ever make it larger for year+? I have had some of my friends for 2-3 years, lol. Yay! orb can be fun for playing around, and a new pet is always good. RC does not matter to me much, but I like the fact that this could put the price of runes down a bit. Should have done that from the start, IMO.
  13. There are five graves, somewhere east of Port Sarim. If you examine the graves, they are the graves of the characters from Hamlet. Almost all of the note system Easter eggs.
  14. Because EW3 would totally become a hidden quest  If it comes out you'll see it on the front page. Why not? The sequel to cooks assistant was Recipe for Disaster, quite a huge difference in difficulties. There is no reason why this could not be about that. We have no idea what is behind that door, at all. Just because the first two were low on the scale of hype, does not leave out EW3. That being said, I know the chances of this are slim as hell, but I can wish, right? ;-)
  15. Oh man....I am so mad I missed this, lol. I really hope its not one of those quests and a piece of content people can just use off the bat, though. Um....has anyone checked the body door? The one that you find during elemental workshop 2? If everyone's bodies rose into the air...with red mist going around them....Could this be some crazy sequel to EW2? Could someone check that out quickly? I would, but I am stuck in f2p atm =P~ . I would love if it was EW3, I love that quest line
  16. Ah, there we go, case closed lol. Well, kind of. The bug is still there, it just needs a workaround. Thanks, happy I could finish that
  17. Yeah, I decided to do the lum diary now that I am f2p. It was really easy and low level, yet I found that I could not complete it with my current stats. Why? It's because beefy bill, the guy who banks your cowhides/beef/flour did not get updated with the f2p bank update. #-o He thinks my bank is full, even though I have enough f2p space for him to use. :wall: I am stuck in f2p for the time being, and cannot get the cash needed to go members atm. I would not care at all if it were not for the lum diary, which requires you to have him bank some stuff for you. Sent the bug report in, but I still aint happy. May have to scrounge up 6$ or so just so I can do a diary....Oh well, best of luck to those who have not done the diary yet =D>
  18. hah you're funny :) Anyway on topic, note that leech defense >> sap ranger / mage / melee Why? I believe it takes shorter for leech defense's full effect ( 10% --> 25% ) to kick in. Sap ranger / mage / melee reduce defense and another skill in an alternating fashion, but leech defense reduces defense only. Except that if you are using mage or range against them, their mage/range stat provides some defense as well. So while leech is better on a pure defense level basis, sap prayers drain both defensive sides of that class. Meaning, the real drain to defense is somewhere around 40% rather than 20% like it says, and the 25% drain of leech prayers are indeed less than this.
  19. Starting off with a bang, eh? Well, I hope this does not mean the servers exploding. A bit more on topic, I would love it if it was Elemental workshop part 3, that is one of my all time favorite quest series. Can't wait to see what is on (behind) Jagex's mind [door]. XD
  20. Well...not true, it would have loads of prices, but I get your point =P OT: Jagex has already made a few Iphone apps, just not of runescape. A few funorb games, I believe
  21. Don't know if anyone cares any more, but I found out a long time ago that PC portals are weak against earth spells. I always had people asking me why I was using earth blast, but also suprised by how accurate it was vs the portal.
  22. I know that in the short term, this would suck a bit for all the current high level mages. But in the long term, this would really benefit mages. And if it is made to be trained like strength is now, it would really not take that long to get high enough in it to get to where magic is right now. I would say level 60-65 would be enough to be hitting our spell's current maxes. And those levels would not take long with some base damage added from the spells themselves helping along the way. And after that, things would only get better. As for adding it to magic itself...why should they? Heck, they could just change melee and make strength attack and defense all one skill, but they don't. They are three separate skills. For magic, attack and defense are already combined. And damage? It is stuck in a non-scalable plot of base spell and equipment damage bonus from certain staffs (none of them f2p, go figure). Except with magic potions, there is no change in the bonus as you level up. And those don't really even count, as they can be used at any level for nearly the same effect. As someone said above this post, the same could be done for range. It is currently accuracy and damage in one stat. Who knows? Jagex can do anything they want, as it is their game.
  23. I would say that this would be trained like strength is vs attack right now. You would select it in your styles while using magic. While it would not be all that great at first, as high level magic users would have to train it up to be decent, in the end it would be a major improvement. In the end, the archeology part of it would just be a bonus to the skill, as that would not be what the skill was mostly about. Kind of like barbarian fishing for strength. Just there as a side note, with damage increase as its main use.
  24. Jagex have told us that they are planning and working on a new skill for both f2p and p2p, but what could it be? They have also said that this skill will change the way combat works, and how we play the game. Finally, they have talked about balancing combat in this game. How could they do all of this with one skill? The new skill: Arcana. I think this could be the new skill that magic users are looking for. Range and melee both have scaling effects on damage as they improve, so why not magic? Why must each spell have its own max hit that never moves, with only increased accuracy? Arcanum: mysterious or specialized knowledge, language, or information accessible or possessed only by the initiate usually used in plural, Arcana. The way I would see this working would be if each spell had a strength modifier to it, kind of like current ranged ammo and melee weapons have. This modifier would combine with Arcana to give you the spells max damage. While this would make a lot of the current things for increasing magic damage obsolete, a quick change of "increase magic" to "increase Arcana" would fix most of those already. Also, items such as the staffs that increase magic damage could be changed to increase Arcana. While some may call this "overpowered", remember, the spell itself would need a decent modifier. Air strike is not going to hit higher than it should, after all. Not only would Arcana be for magic damage, it would also be used in an archaeological way as well, identifying magical items as you dig them up or find them otherwise. Imagine finding new weapons or bows with magical enchants via the Arcana skill! In this way, this could also be a skill that updates melee and ranged. What about a magically made amulet that protects your crops while farming? Boots that can help with your agility training? The possibilities for skilling updates are quite endless as well. This skill would also fit the f2p bit, because if they changed magic with it, it would have to be f2p as well. Do you think this could be the new and combat changing/balancing skill that Jagex have said is coming this year? Why or why not?
  25. While that is true, Dragon Bones have a unique situation in that the supply is already pushed close to it's limit. 1) Green Dragons for Example are always full except in the high wilderness where Rev's are abundant. Its very difficult to find an world that is not full in Chaos Tunnels or Eastern Wilderness. With the exeption of the new Iron/Steel's, Metal dragons are very difficult to get to. And because of this most bones collected by them are burried since its to difficult to bank them and get back. KBD is occupied on almost every world, either by slayers or lower level groups. Green Brutals are to hard to lower level players to kill on a regular basis, as with Miths. Unless some store stocks Dragon Bones (which it should) we are going to see more and more demand, and supply wont be able to keep up with it. Even if bones are 10k each the lack of dragons keeps the supply low. 2) Dragon Bones take a long time to be produced. Even at max 99'd stats and equipment, I dont kill more than 100 Green Dragons an hour. A player training prayer on a guilded alter can use up 100 Dbones in under 5 minutes. Because of this speed difference this makes much more of a lack in supply since production is way behind demand. The best place for D bones, imo, is blue dragons at ogre enclave. Hardly anyone there ever, not that much harder than greens, and close to a teleport (ring of dueling). I really don't know why more people just don't go there =/. No need to hop from green to the KBD or metals/brutals
