July 21, 200718 yr How often do cannons degrade on average? Is the degredation of the cannon affected by the number of Cannonballs shot or the time it is set up for? Will there be a warning sign or message that I can see so that I can re-setup my cannon? Which slayer master is best for high numbers of cannonable slayer tasks - Edgeville, Zanaris, or Shilo master? Cannonable slayer monsters include omething like trolls, dagganoths, fire giants etc.
July 21, 200718 yr On average the cannon degrades every 300 shots. If you leave the area your cannon is set up in for more than 10 minutes (I believe) It will dissapear. I find that Duradel is best for cannoning because you get lots of high number tasks including Trolls, Daggs, Kalphites and more.
July 21, 200718 yr Cannon degrades based on time, not number of cannonballs. You can shoot about 400 at trolls and like 800 at dagonnath before it decays. Ad yes, you'll get a warning message that the cannon is near decoy. Pick it up and reset then. As for the slayer master. Edgeville master is the best for cannon. July 22, 200718 yr The cannon doesn't degrade based on the number of shots it fires. It degrades based on time. If you set up the cannon and don't fire a single shot, it'll still degrade after 10 minutes or so. The number of shots you get before it degrades depends entirely on how many shots you can get per minute. At someplace like dagganoths, you can get maybe 600 shots before it degrades. At someplace like, I dunno, fire giants, you'll get perhaps 100 shots. Of course it won't degrade at all if you simply pick the cannon up and reset it occasionally. Best of luck! you are not even 100lv combat... not too sure the answers for the 1. not sure duradel give kalphites often, but not a lot... out of 16 tasks (so far), he give no kalphite to me at all... 2. cannon dont degrade after 300 shots... thats 10 reloads, right? i have shoot more than that before without the warning message in muti combat zone Examine ChenGMT (level: 138)

If each cannonball does 10 damage on average (good to underestimate :D) that would be 400k xp... I'll just think of a way to pull about 8m out of my [wagon]. :D Thanks for the help.

Cannon gives random damage between 0 and 30 with 15 being an average. Mind though that you get only 1/4 of Ranged exp from it and no HP exp. It is still by far the fastest way to get Ranged and Slayer up but I think you'll need more cannonballs. Runescape Reader's Digest

July 22, 200718 yr On Dag tasks I use 1k+ cannon balls and using guthans it takes about 15 mins for those tasks I use chaedlar but he gives alot of metal dragon tasks :( He gives stuff like lessers, graters, dags, and trolls though so its not to bad Come to #tip-it on Swift IRC, if you're cool
July 22, 200718 yr Well, I'm considerably poor atm, so I don't use a cannon for slayer anymore. However, from past experiences it is quite obvious to me that the Edgeville slayer master is the best for cannonable tasks, whilst the Shilo Village master gives you 99.9% Metal drags :wall: . I find that the Zanaris slayer master is the best for me. :D
