Should there be an EXP highscores or F2P highscores?

Featured Replies

the point is to increase membership :) not to promote the free version..
What about the experience highscores? Surely, that should be a thought of in a much different light?

People who care about their rank should be members and train all their skills. That's all there is too it. There could be separate rankings for other things but there doesn't need to be. People who don't like that shouldn't complain because its their choice. Therefore we need to find other reasons to have other rating systems. The only one I can think of is that getting lots of experience in a few skills is something that should be rewarded for its own merit.

I think it would be nice if Tip.It had a HiScores list of its members. It can get each members hiscores from runescape and it can make two lists, one of all skills, and one of F2P skills only. It wouldn't be quite the same as RS's hiscores, but I bet the F2P lists would attract more F2Pers to Tip.IT, especially hi scoring F2P people.

There already is an XP Hiscores. It's called Overall Hiscores.

Before you say, "But z0mg, I meant XP Hiscores for something like woodcutting!" remember that you can click on WC Hiscores and see the highest XP total there...

Also, before you say "But I mean XP Hiscores for Pures!" why should pures who limit themselves and their amount of xp be given a Hiscores table? If someone who is not a pure has a higher overall XP total, then why is he excluded from it?

As for the F2P Hiscores, I'm in favor of it. But what about members who go back to F2P? They'll still have their skills there. Or vice-versa. High level F2P going to members? People will jump up and down on the Hiscores everyday because of people (un)subscribing.

If they subscribe, they get put on the P2P one for good. There is no returning to the F2P one.

And I'm not sure what you meant in the first part of your post. Overall experience is nice to see, but we want to be able to sort by it, not just see it.

I think the main issue here is the way former F2Pers are listed or represented. For instance, would it be a system that somehow filters out all past and present P2Pers from this list, or would it simply deduct P2P skill levels from former members and list them as such with their F2P totals? Could such a system that lists only F2P be feasibly introduced?

There have been such lists in existence in the past. I am not 100% sure that JAGeX could do it, but they might be able to. Not that they would.

If you have ever been a member, then you are no longer a non-member therefore you would be on the p2p list forever more if they were to be seperated.

You can sort overall exp. You click on the skill and it ranks people by their amount of exp in that skill.

So if you're a WC pure and wanna see where you're ranked on WC, then click on the WC Hiscores and you'll see where you're ranked in overall exp for WC.

Overall experience is your total experience in ALL skills combined. You can't sort by that as it stands right now. It goes by level first, so my 51M total experience is ranked lower than people with 3M total experience because they have more total levels. That just doesn't seem right.
The exp skill totals sounds good. The f2p... No, thats kinda pointless. JagEx wants to you pay, so they are not going to do it.

Firemaking and woodcutting are just as easy on f2p and a main reason of becoming a member is for better training of skills. F2p are free and jagex should work on updates for people who pay them :P

I AM SICK OF YOU -BLEEP- MEMBERS TELLING ME SUCH THINGS!

I don't believe that firemaking and woodcutting are "just as easy" in the F2P world. Try me, Plod2, neonihilist and triforceelf. Attempt to woodcut in F2P using an F2P, non-ex-member account. Then we'll see who's being an imbecile about such matters.

EDIT: Err, nevermind. I just found a page where the total xp dropped like 40mil total because people had more total levels.
