I'm not sure if someone has suggested this, but I was recently thinking about different ways to pay for RS and then I thought, why not have a one-time pay option?

 

 

 

I'm also not sure what the price would be, but I think between $50-$100 wouldn't be too much too ask. Myself being a minor, I hate canceling my RS subscription and then when I want to pay again, I have to get members all over again, asking my parents, etc. A one-time fee would solve all this.

 

 

 

I also believe more people would come over to P2P.

I'd support. I mean you pay about $40-50 for Guild Wars, so why not RS? That and I do agree with you that a lot more people would switch to P2P. The monthly thing kinda turns me off since during most of the year I don't play much, and this would change that for me. The only problems I can see with this is that more the noobish people would infiltrate p2p and that I can't see Jagex doing this since they might lose money. I don't feel like doing the math involved though, but if more people paid like $50-60 then it might even out. I don't know. They could offer it as monthly and permanent subscriptions, as many different websites already do, and maybe Jagex could be more eager to do something like this. I do wish that this could happen, because I want to play members, but I honestly don't play that much to want to pay monthly.

The point of having such a low, monthly cost is that you think: "hey, $5 a month is not that much really", and later you pay for a year or two, and Jagex earns $60-120. Now for more "loyal" members Jagex would lose cash if they implemented something like this. Even though I support,I really doubt that Jagex will implement this soon.

they used to give the choice of one month or one year subscriptions. though it is just the same now once your month is up jagex automatically takes another payment from your credit/debit card.....

get a visa giftcard with about 70 dollars on it, then just use that for a year. it is a 1 time a year payment. just make sure to cancel it before you run out of money

This wouldn't work sa RuneScape is constantly updated with new content and features. Don't forget the cost for the website and servers which is substantial.

Imagine you were Andrew/Paul. Rich yes? One of the 20 richest people in the world I'll have you know btw, Would you rather see you bank balance jump up from 1,000,000 to 100,000,000 million in a day or so, and then watch as it slowly depleted with the expenditure of RS, then have to wait for the next year for it to rise again.

Watch it gradually rise a couple hundred K a day, and not notice all the money you spend as much?

On topic though.....No! this is a game, it needs constant maintance and costs money to keep online. At one point in the future sadly this game wont exist anymore.... simple as.

Since this game is constatly being updated we have to keep paying for these updates. If the game stopped being updated then yes a 1 time fee would do

Guildwars is free monthly because ArenaNet, who make it, have other games etc that give them income, Jagex doesn't.

I understand this, but I only hate that you have to go through stop and paying again over and over again (only for some people) and we could eliminate this altogether.

If they did this then they'd need a donate button. Either that or make a 5 or 10 year subscription type thing, where you pay for so many years and get a discount.

id rather pay more to get more ..heck even if it was 20 a month id still pay.dont support :shame: =; -.- :twisted:

wow thats funny that will never happen but my friend mails them money and he gets 6 months to play with what he plays i think
