I don't think this should be surprising. I mentioned to someone just last week how it didn't seem like GTA 4 was coming out in a few months. There didn't seem to be enough info on it, enough hype generated around it. And that usually starts coming when the game is sure to be released soon and development is wrapping up. It just didn't seem like it would be released so soon. I just hope the PC version comes, and that this game is better than it appears.

They also don't usually announce games' release dates 18 months before they're going to come out.

Me too, I mean, I wanted Assassin's Creed n' stuff aswell, but if I had to pick anything, this would've been it. I was looking forward to this fall because it was seriously, like...The Fall of the Gamers, or something. Originally, Spore was coming out in like May, then in October, now it's Fiscal '09, I'm hearing. WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT? :(

Well I dont have a 360 or PS3 atm so it doesn't really bother me and the fact that now they can make it much better? I'd rather have the game much better than if they rushed it and wasn't that great. Theres plenty of games coming out later this year that u can play anyways.

I heard about this too, its upsetting but at least now it wont feel rushed. They can add more content and test for bugs a lot more to make sure there are few glitches. Its like with Gears of War, I love this game but lots of people complain about glitches that are constantly exploited in online play.

So we know GTA IV has been delayed until the second quarter of the 2008 fiscal year, but when exactly will we be seeing it on the shelves?

 

 

 

Take-Two has apparently been telling retailers March 2008, and going by a typical "GTA released on a Tuesday" assumption, that leaves us with the 4th, 11th, 18th, or 25th.

 

 

 

GameStop has posted "pre-release ships March 3rd, 2008" on their GTA IV page, so for now, we're assuming that the final(?) release date for Grand Theft Auto IV is the 4th of March next year.

Actually the main reason for the delay is because they can't fit the whole game onto a DVD at the current time, but it does fit on a BluRay disc. Microsoft is working on a new DVD format but it's due Q2 2008, so that's why GTA IV is going to be released then.

Well, I've heard say otherwise but I guess time will tell. The most important question for me is wether they will (ever) release it for the pc.

i don't care whose fault it is it might be the PS3 or 360's fault. the bad thing is that we have to wait until next year. i really wanted it on my PS3.

This only means that they'll have more time to work out bugs. And add in other stuff. No complaints from me. :)

you gotta know dude, with all GTA games they never say anything until the month of its release, they dont share much if ANYTHING at all, Vice City, and San Andreas are examples of this, hell even LC Stories and VC Stories are examples.

Hardly suprising. The last GTA was post-poned for a bit too.

 

 

 

Better to have a working version out later than a broken version out earlier. :)
