Overpopulation

Tonight, at 7:30 PM CST I looked at the P2P worlds - 800 in each one. At around Christmas it would be what, 400 at peak? And they've added more worlds.

The sad truth is, more and more people are playing Runescape, and popular training places are becoming cramped. More and more miners are reducing prices on ores, having effects on Rune items also. Jagex cannot go on making new worlds forever, and in my opinion the only way is to add a new land, and increase the number of training places.

Adding more servers isnt going to fix the problem, they need to add the same monsters in different areas. There is so much empty space in this game its insane

Are you joking? Overpopulation? Each server can easily run well on an above 600 mhtz computer with a cable + internet connection at PEAK-2000!!!! people

400? Gimme a break that's like perfect RS conditions...600 even on the free server at about 8 pm at night. If it's not broken then don't fix it...besides there's like a good 25 servers (25x2000-50 000 ppl per one time+ extras)....No way is RS overpopulated, there're plenty of places to train and I see even on the free server that places like Lava maze, Greater demons, Ice giants, Even the HOBGOBLIN MINE are all next to empty. I spend 90% of my fighting training in the wilderness

It is relatively easy to find a training spot indeed, maybe a bit less for archers at some higher lvl monsters, but other then that..

Than again if you do add more worlds... trade would rise up slowly but surely because people can go to worls that aren't packed like f2p world 1 and than people cana ctually see what your selling so I think adding worlds is a great idea and if you can mix in randomly generated monster areas in this vast sea of nothingness we call runescape that would be great

you just have to adapt with the changes. More people playing isnt a bad thing.

Molishist. i dont think there was ever 900 people online when there was just 1 server :P pretty sure on this ;)

I can train wherever I want in f2p on the Toronto server which normally has 1400+ people on it. Your complaining about P2P which has an ENORMOUS landscape and that theres 800 people on? John Stosells says: "Give me a break!".

yeah I think they should add more land to rs. but not just to the p2p, of course they would though becuse it would get more people to play. *sigh* :?

more people mining dosent mean thing becomes cheaper, because with more people playing there will also be a bigger demend for things

I couldn't have said it better myself. When I first started ranged it wasn't as popular because everyone have RC Fever. Now Ranged has become an extremely popular skill and all the decent spots are overflowing with people. Luckily, I'm almost done with ranged but thats when they'll decide to add more spots. Just my luck. At least I have my fire giants in the wild now but I still wouldn't mind some extra land.

I say if you're a fighter train in the wilderness. I realized that years ago when I still played runescape when the first signs of overpopulation started popping up. I've never had a problem training in the wilderness (other than getting attacked sometimes, but that's a fun extra) and it's also much faster and rewarding than training outside of it. If you're scared of losing items then just go with 4 items so you can use the protect item prayer (though PK'ers hate 4 item people more than ones with full armor) but I recommend going with all items. During my training from level 55 to 104 in the wilderness I've died a grand total of 1 times and I always wore the best equipment available at each time. Trust me, if you know what you're doing you're better off with good equipment than with 3 or 4 items.

I agree there is too much empty space. While you cannot add monsters everywhere which would make the game crowded, perhaps they could add more monsters in one area and change the spawn formula. Its rare you get a spot to yourself but maybe some research needs to be done to see where monsters need to be added.

The thing is you have got away from the point. The worlds are overpopulated not individual areas. A better idea is to increase the number of people per sever.

The number of severs cannot go on forever. Eventually the size of jagex would render each world to a seperate group- like f2p,p2p,premiem(pays to get onto the world), corp(mods and stuff)

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

I'm sorry, but having 800 people on a server is NOT bad at all. In fact, anything under 1000 players on a single server is great conditions for training, etc...in my opinion. Releasing more servers might be needed in the future, but right now, we're more than fine.

So there might be a few people at "your" training spot. Well whoop-dee-doo, time for you to spell the coffee and wake up...this game isn't centered around you. You will not always get what you consider "perfect conditions" and you're going to have to learn to live with it.

And besides, adding more worlds won't solve much. All it means is that it gives us one more world to become a crowded training spot. As someone said before me, the only way to "solve" this, would be to realease more monsters in different locations.
