Is F.E.A.R. really that scary?

Featured Replies

Well i just got it today for my PS3 and i'm wondering if it's scary?

(I'm 12 yes go on and say "omg only 13+" just sayin.)

I'm very jumpy and alert so i think i won't do so well.

Its scary if you play it in the middle of the night in pitch darkness.

God damn... bricks were shat when i played it for the first time.

O.o mods, i appear to have found a hole in the censor.

In my opinion its not too scary.. you get use to it pretty quick and you expect things to happen.

Scary/action/shooter games for me don't exist...

If you want to scare me you'd have to make a mystery game with moody music/atmosphere.

Well it not scary for me but I'm 16. For a 12 year old I would say yes.

The demo was pretty scary for me. But I'm sure it'd wear off, and just become occasional surprises, 12 yrs old or what not.

Life is a joke. Yeah, I don't get it either.

Pretty scary, especially if you play on highest settings with surround sound.

Like all horror games, it has it's moments... but it ain't got nothing on Doom 3 :ohnoes: .

If you play it in the afternoon with the lights on, no

Play it late at night with no other light/sound, it's :ohnoes:

Not scary...its just one of them games that make you jump occasionally if you play it say at afternoon when its bright...just avoid at midnight with no light.

Nah. Just a couple of those moments that make you jump, but after a while you get used to it.

depends, when I play scary games I tend to yell at the screen alot lol, I woke up my parents playing xbox one night lol. I don't find them scary when I'm yelling constantly, otherwise, they might make me jump sometimes. I didn't like FEAR too much, it was a bit too short.

Doom 3 was awesome. I've learnt never to shine flashlights into dark corners... :ohnoes: F.E.A.R was scary for the first time I played it (Pitch black, surround sound speakers), but it wore off eventually.

On a rating of 1 to 10, give scariness of these games:

Doom 3

F.E.A.R

Resident Evil 4

Only one I played was Resident Evil 4, and it sometimes spooked me out.

If you think that's scary, I have one word for you: Condemned. You will cover your little white diaper in brown goo. :anxious: :boohoo:

Don't talk smack if you're not willing to say it to the person's face. On the same line, if you're not willing to back up your opinions no matter what, your opinion may as well be nonexistent.

Doom 3 - 7/10 *

F.E.A.R - Haven't played..so..average score. 5/10.

Resident Evil 4 - 2/10 **

[hide=Read.]* - Doom 3 was kinda scary. It depends..if you see the flash right in front of you and an imp comes, or a pinky rounds the corner in front of you..not that scary. However, if you walk into a room, pass a dark corner..and a Fat Zombie smacks at you, it's kinda startling. NOTHING like turning around, shining the light, and seeing a Pinky Demon charging and then pull your gun when he's fricking RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. You know what I mean..you KNOW somethings gonna jump out..then it happens, and you're still surprised >.<

** - RE4 wasn't scary at all. Come on..it was so predictable. It was just kinda suspenseful. Like..'What'll happen now? Oh, El Gigante.'..Sure, there were some moments of scary confusion, but they were few and far between. I don't even see why it was Gphoria game of the year..or xplay game of the year, or whatever. There were a hundred better games out there..RE4 was decent, but it wasn't THAT great.[/hide]

Well, there are my opinions

I would not ask me...Played RE4 5 times through and had no nightmares at all.

It really is not that scary. And its really not that great a game (talking about FEAR not RE4). Just voicing my opinion. You want a horror shooter play RE4. Giant chainsaw wielding maniacs scary to you?
