thisismine
its the same priciple thought unless your going to spend alot of time (and or money) in the barrows you arnt goign to get a full set of armour i just feel that being such good armour you should have to earn teh right to use it. Puting mini quests on for things like that would also make it that much harder for idiots that buy gold with rl $ then use that to buy teh top armour / weapons i know this isnt a FPS but if i freeze you can i still yell "Boom headshot" ? Alex_Ewan_1
People should have to earn the godsword, the best sword in the game. Train up stats etc... so you can beta the hardest bosses in the game. It should be a sign of achievement not of wealth. people who horded phats, pumpkins etc.. years ago and have now sold for cash can just buy laods of godswords and horde them, pojntess. Non tradeable and 1 per player. Goals achieved: lvl 99 Cooking, Fishing and Fletching.Surrey CC and Liverpool FC fan for life!
Warrager
So, um, if god swords were non-tradeable, one person alone, would have to get 3 shards, AND a hilt? Wow, like that'll be really frequent. Also, if you go pking, since technicaly if you get killed, and since the god sword is non tradeable, no one would be able to get, right? I think it should have higher reqs, but making it untradeable would pretty much blow up anyone's chances to get a full god sword. Yes it hits high, but it's slow, REALLY expensive, and the big hits don't happen everytime. I mean, if you have 50 mil-150 mil to blow on a god sword, go ahead, a whip and a rune defender are just somewhat below the effectiveness of a god sword. Owned_Nex
Its should be tradable Just because you didn't actully kill for it, dosn't mean you did no work. How did that 20m+ come from? Fell off a tree? Hard to get both way... Also PKing...What if whip was non-trabeable. You get a kill, and what you get? Climbing boots and some rune. The owner runs back and gets his whip. Its pointless to make it non-tradable... Dungeoneering isn't a skill. I'm faster than bots at Sorceress Garden. PM me if you want to chat. My PM is always off. My keyboard is on fire. Want some? Locutus_Of_Borg
So, what if you get a second one? Then the first one you worked so hard to get is no longer worth it. Also, you can go pking with the godsword and not worry about losing it, because you can tele back and get it. Ooh, I just though of a new, expensive way of 1-iteming :P All life begins with Nu and ends with Nu...This is the truth! This is my belief!...at least for now. Zaaps1
But that's like saying Barrows items shouldn't be tradeable. Or any other drop for that matter. It would be a pain to have to kill Abby Demons to get your own whip. How many hours would getting full guthans take? Likewise, people who have 150m+ worked hard for that money, and to me, it is almost equal to having killed it yourself. ~It's Super Effective! ldailey06
If you want everything to be untradeable go play wow Making godswords untradeable is a terrible idea. When I get a godsword soloing a boss I want to be able to sell it at ridiculously inflated price to some idiot who will actually use it.

Owned_Nex
It has to be. RS is centered around money. Everything is buyable. If you made GWD stuff untradable, then all other "self-achieved" things must be. Monster hunting is a SOURCE OF MONEY. MAke nats untradable. You need RC for that right? COmparing rs to wow is unrealistic. In wow, only basic materials can be bought, all for skills. If you were to not do any skills in WOW, you would NOT NEED MONEY. All endgame items are self obtained. Alg
Comparing WoW to RS is unreasonable on any level: the only similarity they share is that they're popular MMO games. Sith's original post was to have the Godsword as a non tradeable status item, I assume. Something on the lines of a fire cape, rather than a toy for rich players (At the time, this hardly holds water now). It'd be too late to do anything about it now, though perhaps this could be a discussion on how future high-status combat items should be treated? Until people that don't read past the title get to it. I painted some stuff and put it on tumblr
llamster
Greed? That's absurd. You think wanting money, and spending money, is greedy? Your suggestion would wreck the profitability of GWD and ruin the income source of tens of thousands of players. Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:
sithlord_man
You don't need to Post anymore comments here, seeing that this would not happen now. Now let this thread die once again. 99 FM Acheived on Friday December 26th 2008Click for my blog|Mass Effect Discussion Thread|Nation Creation/Create your own Country Forums
HydroZerker
A similar amount of effort is needed to get your cash to 60 mill as it takes to kill enough enemies. So the rich players that dont like risking items but have enough time to make 60 mill should deserve godswords just as much as normal players that have enough combat and courage to risk items.
