buttwhoopchi
I know, I know, the title sounds like one of two things: either I've totally lost it or I'm a n00b wanting to sound cool. But...I intend to make it eventually. First, a bit of story on how I started on this road, and a hint as to how I plan to boost my stats: I started in f2p, as most players do. I was milling about with the other players, just another money-seeking, combat-loving player, when I decided on my first big goal: get level 30 in every stat I could. (I was tired of not being on the highscores in everything.) After a harsh runecrafting grind, which seems so laughable by my current standards, I achieved this goal. But...this was not enough. Eventually, I became member. So, naturally, I had to get all my member stats to 30 (at the time, these were Fletching, Thieving, Agility, and Herblore). Fletching was first and easiest, while agility and thieving were a bit more painful. Herblore was the last of these stats to reach 30, after I had completed Hero's Quest. I had finally appeared on the highscores in every stat. As you may be guessing, this too was not enough. I decided to raise the bar a bit. I had all my stats 30+, right? So, it was time to add 10 to each level. That's right, all stats 40+. It's been too long for me to remember how exactly I got my stats up at the time, but I do remember pushing runecrafting to 44 so I could make nature runes without having to run for someone else. This was still before even slayer was added. Still, I sought more... Now, the halfway point (or so it seemed). All stats 50+. It was at this time that I met another player chasing the same goal I was. He called it "the 50 club". It had become a race. He happened to be the only person at the time with less total experience than me for my skill total, which irked me because until then I was the lowest-ranked player with my skill total! It was around this time that slayer came out and forced me to do more work to maintain my goal. I ended up going back through the 30-40 phase, until finally reaching the so-called "50 club" before my "opponent". The tale does not stop here... My path was practically set now. The race to the 60 club had begun. In the middle of this, I took a detour and rushed my cooking level to 99. My first 99 skill! And it only cost me a week of my life. #-o I finally reached the 60 club--waitaminute, there's a new skill! Farming! Okay, so after I grew some groceries I eventually made it to the 60 club, lagging a bit behind my training partner. There's not really much to say about the 70 club that hasn't been said about the other clubs except that construction came out before I got to it. Now, the current story: the 80 club. Skillcapes came out early on, so I ended up taking a fletching detour. I had my second skill at 99! *fist pump* Hunter came out shortly after I gained all stats 70. This totally ruined my goal for a long while - hunter was just too slow to level, and I had no motivation whatsoever. I had to force myself into falconing my way to 70, to reclaim the 70 club. Now that my backstory is done, it is time for the current story. I have four stats below 80. They are mining, agility, runecrafting, and hunter. I also have 3 stats maxed at 99: cooking, fletching, and magic. After I reach the 80 club, I will have a decision. Go for the 90 club, or just go for individual stats to 99. Currently, I am getting hunter to 80 (lol, it's profitable now that I've found chinchompas) and my friend has switched gears and decided to go for 91 runecrafting (a goal that may well put a stop to my journey to 99 everything). The four stats that stand between me and 80+ everything: Wish me luck! (Or skill, or patience, or whatever.)

piman1053
Do yourself a favor and do the fun ones first. You likely won't max stats (or anytime soon at least) so if you quit at least you had some fun playing, as hypocritical as it is to call this game fun. As long as you don't stay in f2p too long, though. :ohnoes: That's typically been how I've leveled. Fun stats first, boring stats last. And to be honest, I foresee 99 runecraft killing my goal. buttwhoopchi
That's three tips, or four I think. I can't stay away from the forums forever. When you're as high up as I am, every level is major; they're just so...far...apart...and I can't help but respond. It's in my blood to respond. The memories of 99 cooking still haunt me...that week has to be the lamest week of my life. That was the peak of my no-lifing. It is here that I close today with what I did: caught a little over 300 chinchompas total, killed some zammy spirit mages for two dragon-boots drops, and worldhopped way more than one person should for a good hunting spot. With that, tonight has ended for me!
buttwhoopchi
Tonight's bump: one strength level and one hunter level gained - 83 strength and 78 hunter.
buttwhoopchi
I'll be so glad once I get 80 hunter...all this worldhopping for a quiet world is getting annoying. At least with 5 traps I can try to force others out. 79 hunter and getting impatient...at least I have this little toy mouse I picked up with my accumulator to keep me occupied. ^_^

It's not a complete "waste of life" like some people say. Just make sure you keep up with real life activities, don't neglect your real life friends/family/significant other, and get some exercise once in awhile. We do not go through life just working all the time. We have to have time to enjoy life the way we want to, and if that's playing video games then so be it. :D Good luck on your goals, I am sure you can achieve them :-) "He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, who despises the gain of oppressions, who shakes his hands, lest they hold a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed and shuts his eyes from looking on evil, he will dwell on the heights; his place of defense will be the fortresses of rocks; his bread will be given him; his water will be sure." ~Isaiah 33:15-16 My BlogScape! Mining isn't going to be entirely bad with the Shilo gems (not the surface ones, the eight rocks everyone called worthless). Runecrafting makes money, so that's also not a bad thing. Only problem will be agility...so I've decided to train that with barbarian fishing. Let's see how far this takes me.
Olbritishchap
wow, good luck. 99 everything would be a major accomplishment! and also if i ever went for all 99's, i'd do boring ones first, so that i get the worst done with quickly so i can move on to fun things. buttwhoopchi
99 runecrafting? First? Are you daft?! In other news, I have obtained 80 hunter and decided that the remaining three skills will be either boring, tedious, or otherwise take forever to get to 80. So, I'm going for a 99 or two now. First up: ranged.
buttwhoopchi
FINALLY I find a good monster to train on for 99 ranged: aberrant spectres. Everything else just didn't seem right. I know these guys can hurt, but I know how to handle them. :P Now if I can just resist the urge to do this clue scroll I got about 5 kills in...I should be good. (It happens every time...) buttwhoopchi
Bump - recent levels: 86 herblore (yay) and 92 hitpoints (more yay). Feeling sorta not into ranged right now. buttwhoopchi
OOOooooOOOO...so close to 80 runecraft I can taste it. Mmmm...it tastes vaguely like soul runes. Which is weird, because I can't craft those directly until level 90.
