Will H
My German friends dont use the German worlds on the basis alot of the translations are wrong... Are you sure? I mean, they released them a long time ago, so if a lot of translations were wrong, we all would have heard about it earlier. If what you say is true, :shame: shame on you Jagex. I think that the game translations are a good idea, as there is a large potential audience who don't speak English. However, German did seem like an unlikely language to start. Anyway, what language will they release next? Dutch? French? Mandarin Chinese? ~ W ~
JordanGM
hmm.. isn't it.. Deutsch? :shame: Sorry, I'll change it :)
mchainmail
I think it is good for what it is meant for, quests. Jagex said something to the extent that the language in quests is a lot harder to understand than the rest of the game.
gibsocam
i believe there needs to be some way to make sure they are accually german when they log on, like a question in german that you must answer correctly (like one from the stronhold of security) The server is accually dangerous sometimes because the names are in german, and ppl usually go off the image. This makes it easy to be scammed
kelem_ryu
I didn't like german servers in World of Warcraft. It was a bit boring. I like it when people from different countries are all mixed together. In WoW there were only Germans (, Austrians and Swiss people) on the german servers. To me it's something that makes the internet beautiful: Space doesn't exist. As soon as you start to introduce servers for every language you seclude people from each other again. Once i met a german and we continued to write english nevertheless.
xhhcx
there are alot of players from germany on runescape and thay are a impartent group of costumers for jagex. some of these players dont understand a word of english and why should thay be forced to learn it? if i dident know english i would simply play another game and that means jagex loosees money. it may be true that thay aint to heavely populated as you might wish for but does it really matter? If i was german i would hang around there doing my skills and my training.
P_E_N_N_Y
In this case i think that jagex made these worlds to appease the majority of people by showing they DO take notice of international players and DO things about any issues, They made these worlds under pressure from the majority i believe, however it isnt going too far to say that in any situation when a mojority comes together they want what is right, not what is practical or smart, I wouldn't say these worlds are pointless, for the point is to accommodate the small amount of dutch who aren't english-literate enough to play (though you wonder how they'd start playing in the first place), They aren't pointless, but they certainly aren't needed and i highly doubt jagex would make any more than they have already, for reasons you've pointed out. P_E_N_N_Y
What most of you don't seem to realise is that english is the most dominant language in the world (thanks to the british empire), because this is not the "right" thing but it is the practical and sensible thing, The game will not become much more language-friendly because the rest of the world becomes more english-friendly, While that's incredible discrimination you have to realise that germans speaking english isn't like english speaking german, germans are taught english since they are extremely young and you'll rarely find one that "can't speak a world of english" because the english are they only ones who can not speak a word of another langauge and get away with it pretty much anywhere in the world, unfortunately the majority of us english and amercians are just too ignorant to realise that that is fact and it is so because it makes communication between people better, everything adapting to different languages, too much at least, would have the opposite effect. Fredz
I'm thinking. Most German people speak English. Why didn't they add languages like Chinese instead? Or spanish? 21 lag piles, 4 Pjs, 2 Party hat kills, 67 newbs teached.

Soulthresher
I use them sometimes to fight metal dragons but I can't stand getting a random and having to translate german but guessing. That sandwich lady is a horrible women when you can't read german
highlanders
I like it. I speak quite a bit of German, and I find German players on there too. I think the quiet servers are starting too attract people, but if you don't speak German you shouldn't go on there really, it's too easy to be scammed or random events can get you (especially the sandwich lady) Online traductors : 2480+ total
