My New Computer - Anyone wanna give some hints?

How did you just say yes? There are a decent number of graphics cards out there, and you got one without bothering to look into how good it is, if it's worth the extra money, ect..? For what you do, you don't need a fancy graphics card. If your motherboard has it's own onboard video then you don't need to buy anything if you're just playing Runescape and using basic programs. I have an old nVidia GeForce Go 6600 and I can run WoW, Lineage II, and games along those lines just fine..

I don't know, they asked if I wanted a graphics card installed, I said yes since I would rather have one then not, I knew basically nothing more then 'graphic card' then, so I just figured to get one, and have the option of getting another one later if it proved faulty(which I would figure out by these great people here). Yea, like I said, my knowledge of Hardware is only the basics, and I know enough about software(excluding somethings relating to graphic cards too much-.-) that's why I'm not asking about it. ^^

For the guys saying Vista is a big no, your wrong. For starters it's better for gaming than xp because of dx10. Games made for XP are not any slower on Vista (except for the old win98 games).

Vista is the new stable OS. The drivers are mature, all the bugs have been worked out, and it's faster than when it came out. You people need to stop bashing Vista on stories you read over a year ago.

If you want a gaming machine everyone knows you should run Windows 98 SE, end of story really.

I hope your kidding.

Nope, seriously, best performance to be honest.

I thought I read somewhere about 98 being a totally different OS then most microsoft systems, and it played certain things very well, with the right hardware? Or was this some other OS, or program?

You have to be trolling.

Either that or just stupid.

According to this, the graphics is a Geforce 7350

More features of the tower shown here

It IS a low end graphics card, but enough to handle Vista eyecandy, and it will be that which limits the performance index. On the other hand, the quad core will fly through any benchmark or real application with effective multithreading, embraced by many video and graphics rendering applications, for instance.

Without a better graphics card, it is not a gaming system, as the card it is equipped with is merely the next tier above onboards. With competion still driving DX10 progress, best not to upgrade grapics unless you have to, as the price/performance points are likely to continue to get better.

OR, I know what I'm talking about...

And 98 is so great for gaming when modern games don't even support it, right. Or the fact that modern drivers don't support 98.

Plus any sort of performance gain you would get is minimal.

Actually, they do support it.

Some drivers don't, but you can get fixes for that easily.

Most games support 2000/XP/Vista or XP/Vista. NOT 98.

Seriously stop trolling. You don't know what the hell your saying so just shutup.

Looks good, but Vista blows dude.

This is what drives people into becoming killers.

Just a note to anyone here but, unless you've experienced vista recently (like the past few months and not a beta version/ release version) you aren't qualified to say anything about it.

Vista is not a big deal. I don't use it but my roomate does, and he's only had one problem with it. (which wasn't vistas problem).
