Granite is a waste because it's in the desert causing u to carry waterskins and either humidifiy runes(Dream mentor Quest) or a knife intern wasting time. September 18, 200718 yr You're planning to get from level 12 to 99? Forget it. First do tin/copper to level 15, then mine until you can mine coal or keep mining iron (I always "power-mined" at hobgoblins in wilderness; power-mining means mine 4-5 rocks and drop your ores) until 70-85, as you like and then I would go rune mining and make money. If you don't wanna spend time on power mining (although its the best way to get to 85) you can also mine iron & coal and make steel bars.
September 19, 200718 yr Author Thanks for the responses everyone. I want to bank and I plan on doing other things as wells such as crafting and maging. Then smithing. When does mining coal on P2P become effective i.e. not a waste of time. Although I'm not going to sell it I am going to make steel plates and alch. By the way, I am trying to become selfsufficient so I don't have to rely on anyone else. September 20, 200718 yr Iron is ok till u achieve bout 75 or so... Then you get bored sick of it. And coal is almost just as fast as iron when your level is >81 or so... You can easily boost your level in the guild and earn lots of money too. It doesn't take much longer to get to the bank than drop all the crap.

September 20, 200718 yr Back when I was lvling I mined up to iron and mined anywhere near a bank cant remember till I got to coal and stayed with coal and mined at dwarf mines near falador ( f2p ) now if your p2p I'd go with coal trucks. Carts hold 120 + what you can gold on you. Bank is around 1 minute walk. I can get about 2k in just a few hours. Best way IMO. Didnt take me long to lvl and I banked everything. When I got to 5K+ iron or coal I would sell and start over. Mining can get boring so stick with it and you can do it. Good luck it takes time.
