September 20, 200718 yr Alreet you tip goers you! The situation is this... Yesterday was my Freshers day for Higher National Diploma in Music Technology and Production. Basically its a uni course at college. I'm currently working tuesday evenings, thursday evenings and sundays. The pays great but I now have a per[bleep]ement - my college hours clash with the tuesday and thursday nights, and i'm going to be needing a fair few free sundays in the coming weeks. Needless to say, I can't carry on with these hours, and i'm working at morrisons who are completely inflexible. You have to book days off 6 weeks in advance and it's just not an option because most of the days I need off I don't even know about until a week or so in advance. Does anyone know any companies that offer flexible hours jobs? I'm currently applying at McDonalds, sucks I know, but they offer hours flexible enough for me to work. The pay's a little less but, at the end of the day, I should hopefully be working two full days as i'm at college 3 days a week and essentially earning more because, well - I can work there for longer! Any ideas?
September 20, 200718 yr You are unlikely to get a part time job on flexitime. You are better off organising the hours that you need when you initially start the job and get it in the contreact. That way they cant mess you about. Organise having Tuesdays and Thursdays off and just refuse to work sundays. They cant make you. September 20, 200718 yr Mcdonalds is good for flexible hours with uni. Try looking into a labour hire company in your area as well. I work at both mcdonalds and with a labour hire company and I can easily fit it around uni :)

I'm essentially looking for a job where it's easy to get time off when you need it, not OMFGZ YOUR GONNA GET FIRED IF YOU HAVE 2 DAYS OFF like it is now. The problem with my current job is tues thurs sun are the ONLY days I work. hahah.

September 20, 200718 yr I'm loosely connected to a community of architecture and art students who have some contacts that always come up with very well paid one time jobs. Last thing was for example to dismantle the equipment of an IKEA photo shooting. Pay was 100 ÃÆââââ¬Ã¡Ãâì for one day of work. Money was of course given under the hand. Ask around at university. There are always some projects that need a helping hand - there are always people, who know people. The kind of flexibility you are looking for is something a regular job can't give you. Just keep your eyes and ears open and opportunities will come.

September 21, 200718 yr Try a job with a labour hire company. You'd most likely have to do full days, usually hard work, but you can come and go as you please, if you turn up, they'll get you work, if not, thats cool too. Did it once before for a few months when I was inbetween jobs.
September 21, 200718 yr I would try to see if there is a way you could get employeed through the college, or check to see if you college has some sort of program to help in finding jobs, because, from what i've seen, jobs gained through school are extremely flexible. Some people are like slinkies, normally they are dull, but they always give you a smile when you push them down a flight of stairs.
September 21, 200718 yr Tim Hortons has pretty flexible hours. Yea, I work there, and it's easy to switch shifts with someone and (at least at mine) college students schedules are made around their school schedule. Also, you're not working over boiling vats of grease, so it's a pretty good job. ;)
