How come I can play CS 1.6 for free at school but I try and download it at home and I have to pay an extra $9.95 for it, wtf?? THE SCHOOL DIDNT PAY FOR IT AND I HAVE TOO. Im confused...

The school probably did pay for it. It may be extreme irony but it's possible. If not, a kid may have installed a copy he bought on a lot of the school computers or he used a crack.

 

 

 

The game is not free, you need to buy it, so don't be complaining.

Just buy the game. It'll be worth it..I'm sure the school paid for it. After all, the school system DOES have money..

 

 

 

And don't try and download for free..if you want to go online, you'll need steam. And to play CS online, you'll need an account. And to play through the account, you'll need a CD key..and unless you buy it through steam or buy it at the store, you'll be missing the CD key.

Just use the steam account you used at school, you should be able to right click on it and say "Install" if you are in the one you used at school. Seems like school computers would've even allow you to download Steam...

Wait, was the school using the steam-based version, or the standalone one?

Counterstrike has always been free.

 

 

 

The game you have to buy though is Halflife 1. And to be honest, with the amount of amusement you get from HL1 and CS1.6 I don't think you should be complaining at paying $10.

1) don't be cheap, pay for one of the best fps of its time

Everyone plays in Accounting 11, and its CS 1.6?? I dunno...$10 yeah...I get my paycheck today so ill probably buy it..

Its worth much more than the $10 price tag. Suck up and pay it.

Counterstrike:Source is awesome. I paid $40 (US$35) and got Counterstrike:Source, Day of Defeat: Source and Half Life 2 Deathmatch.

Much different, yes. Source is much more realistic in terms of graphics, but in terms of gameplay 1.6 is the one that's more realistic, mostly because of the way each weapon sprays.

When I was actually good at Counterstrike... I remember going from 1.6 to CS:S. I was godlike. :P

 

 

 

Pick up the M4 and headshot came flooding in. Just because it's so much easier to aim.

 

 

 

Although now, I suck at both. Don't have the eyesight or reactions for games like that anymore. :(

You suck, I paid 120 for that pack two years ago. Well, I also got the back catalogue so I can play all games up to DoD:Source.
