Support Musical Instruments in Runescape! (With Pictures)

Featured Replies

Ok I started this thread today...It came up as a weird idea as I was listening to Colplay while playing Runescape, but would it be cool if Runescapers had wieldable guitars, perhaps pianos in POHs? What about wieldable banjos and flutes...And a bass set! :boohoo:

I don't know weather have anyone thought of this idea yet but currently I'm working on some pictures so could u guys please bump my thread and keep it alive =)

Alright look My first Picture. Didn't do a good job of the editing though lolz. <3:

I remember a suggestion a while back about a music skill. It was pretty nice...Music can be used for a lot of things...Bad music can deal damage, good music can heal or whatever, etc.

I wouldn't go as far as guitars, but harps, horns, violins/violas/cellos/whatever, drums, etc. could work.

(If remember correctly, there are harps in Fremminik (Sp?) and cowbells (And a few other instruments, but not items) for the penguin quest (Cold War). )

Of course, it doesn't have to be a skill. Nothing wrong with a fun update.

Are you actually going to expand on this?

Whoopie. We can hold instruments. What else? What would this skill offer? Why would I want to train it? How would it benefit already existing skills?

In my opinion, a Musical Skill would be complete trash. And this is coming from a person who took a HIGHLY rejected skill idea (Archaeology) and actually made it favorable by players.

You could possibly take this skill idea somewhere...with a lot of work. But really, I just can't see much that could be done with this.

But good job for at least putting some effort into it.

..why no guitars?

Apparently SachikiNimo is a little confused, because that's an acoustic guitar but she refers to it as an electric.. there are acoustic-electric guitars that are just louder, but it doesn't look like it's hooked up to an amplifier. >_>

I don't see why (acoustic) guitars can't be in Runescape, unless a guitar made out of wood, bone, metal and steel strings is too advanced for a civilization of air balloons, Elemental Workshops, and Blast Furnaces..

Not that I think we should be able to run around with iPods and Guitar Hero controllers. That part was kind of funny.

Also I suggested in an earlier music topic that playing music could support people in combat, skilling, or just do fun and silly things.

There are Lyres in Relekka, yes, but if you try to play it, it just says "I don't know where I'd begin to play this..". If you enchant it, it's a one-time teleport to Relekka if you play it. Also I think you play it like once in the Fremennik Trials quest, but I don't remember very well.

Also I heard something about drums and cowbells in The Cold War. But then I had to do Garden of Tranquility and it's boring, so.. I'll do that later.

Officially retired on 12/10/07, no drop parties because that might be "covertly trading wealth". What does one person's happiness(until they quit) mean compared to the hours I wasted while runecrafting, anyways?

Yes, the Enchanted Lyre teles you to Relleka.

I pretty much agree with this, although I think I'd rather have bad music to stun/lower stats then deal damage.

1. They don't have electric ANYTHING in Medievil(sp?) Runescape

2. The music, if they did it, would be crap

3. so yeah!

How come I can play the organ without getting music xp :(.

I don't support it because you haven't explain it enough, and they didn't have ipods in the middle ages

Considering that Runescape is set in a medieval like time, and she has an iPod and electric guitar in her invent, i don't think it could work. Can you expand on the skill, and how it is trained, what its skillcape looks like and any other features?

Umm runescape is not set in any paricular time period, otherwise how do you explain cannons, bricks, gliders, hot air balloons etc. (though ipods and other electrical stuffis is out.)

I suppose this could be an idea, but how could you gain xp? being able to simply repeatly 'strum guitar' or 'play organ' and get xp would amke this skill slightly easy to train, don't you think?

Hmmm....

I need a new siggy, get round to doing it later.

Probably.
