  1. So, I take a one-year hiatus from Runescape, and this happens? What is going on here? If not for my brother losing the 50 mil I lent him when I quit, I'd complain. As is, I'm destitute and could do with some free money. I mean, it looks like getting that much money back can't take much more than a week now... I mean, I have no problem with cosmetics, especially as someone wearing these new cosmetic items is pretty much saying "look, I'm contributing to Jagex's determined ruining of the game!", but this is madness. Member's Loyalty program cosmetic rewards I'm fine with, but Solomon's General store... no. ...Oh, for the love of Zaros, I just got a spin ticket drop.
  2. First: Your dad? Inconceivable! Anyhow, I like this. Ideas for lv-99 rewards: Agility-Achievement cape has more negative weight than the hunter capes Prayer-Achievement cape gives higher prayer bonus Ranged-Accumulator can be upgraded (again) to give a higher ranged attack bonus and a new look Hunter-General camoflage top and legs, gives same camoflage bonus as a complete larupia/kyatt/graahk, in any Hunter region
  3. Oh, look. Jagex lied. They said "revamp". Not "minigame". Furthermore, cannons look hideous now. I also refuse to accept their using the word "pimp". Also annoyingly, the ceremonial swords might be worthwhile if F2Pers could get them, assuming they have the same speed as a rune scimitar. They look cool, at least. Is it inconceiveable to Jagex that people want the skill to be useful?
  4. My theories about the items and their slots: Ring-Law-Indigo Amulet-Soul-Gold Legs-Death-Black Weapon-Blood-Red Cape-Nature-Green Belt-Astral-Silver Haven't tried it yet, sounds like it's got to be better than 3. Say, is there difference in effectivness between the different shields at wyverns? Gloves and boots look cool, save one thing- Everything looks like dungeoneering armor now. Torva, Elemental, everything.
  5. In general, his comments about repetitive combat, grinding, F2P not being the full game etc. are true. However, he manages to utterly fail at explaining this in a non-idiotic way (See, Champions Guildmaster). Obviously, though, he didn't do Dungeoneering, with its substantially more varied combat (even normal boss fighting would work here), minigames, or questing. As far as I know, most quests in other games are more like One Small Favor, Cook's Assistant, or the Slayer skill than the better Runescape quests. Also, some skills are slightly more interesting than just grinding. Another good (Maybe?) thing about Runescape is its unending awful puns. So he manages to find most of the bad stuff, express it poorly, and ignore the good stuff. Well done, reviewer. =D>
  6. I support, but I have a few remarks. 1. Wouldn't only red, yellow, blue, black, white, metallic*, and sparkle dyes be needed? If somebody can't combine those colors into others (Red+Yellow=Orange, anyone?), what did they DO in kindergarten? 2. A graphical update might be needed before this update-do you really want to have to distinguish light blue dragon armor from runite? The plateskirt especially would need to be made more unique, the shield, leg, and body armor as well. On this note, Rune being given a custom appearance and being made dyeable sounds like a good idea. 3. If not, the list of dyeable gear would need to be restricted further, keeping only especially unique gear (GWD armor, Barrows, Third Age), removing gear like dragon, which is less special, graphically. *I say metallic, not silver, as "yellow+silver" makes a less convincing gold color. This might devalue treasure trail rewards, though.
  7. First thing, I owe somebody a lot of money on Runescape. I'll be able to pay it back now. Things I look forward to from the update: Free Trade Getting your opponent's stuff as loot Things I do not look forward to: Wilderness becoming a haven for PKers again. There's a lot of stuff (clue scrolls, green dragons, minigames, quests, chaos tunnels, a couple bosses, etc) that takes place there.
  8. Ah, the Runescape fandom. If they can't find anything to complain about, they complain about a tangentially related update and resort to ad hominem attacks. Seriously, what the karz is wrong with some of you? My personal opinion of the update: I like it. A nice, useful, update, if not as impressive as most. But what is with the graphics for the 'switch back to bank' button? It's jarring.
  9. Actually, it's a 'pity'. Not a piety. Nitpicking aside, that's true. However, there isn't much mage armor in the first place (Mystic is pretty much the only option, other than things like barrows, minigame rewards, quest rewards, etc.), which is its own issue. Especially given that F2P has like, two pieces of mage gear. Black/blue hat and skirt, essentially. I can't see why blessed mystic would be bad. However, there are already three colors of mystic... Zamorak, Saradomin, and Armadyl are practically covered by black, blue, and white already. Well, Zamorak and Saradomin. Armadyl would be icy blue instead of gold.
  10. I think Smithing is the only skill in the game that has something new for every level. Dungeoneering actually has more new things than some skills, like, say, mining, fishing, or woodcutting. Every other level is a lot better than every five to ten levels.
  11. I only dungeoneer for fun; hence my low level (45, my second-lowest level). I've never understood why people would pay money to play a game they don't have fun playing.
  12. I honestly doubt anybody ever expected firemaking could profit. You sure aren't alone. I think that since time=money, it wouldn't be worth it.
  13. thats what i sayd, but rather then color it should be shape of the hit splat imo. That actually makes perfect sense. I like that idea. Also, for the 'miss' vs 'hit zero' issue, couldn't they make the blue hitsplat be only 'miss' and make a red zero hitsplat for 'hit zero'?
  14. @Jeda45 didn't you read post #5? dagaon weapons can't dual wielded only bronze to rune weapons but 2h swords ( great swords) and Halberds can't be held in two hands. 2h swords ( great swords) and Halberds are Weapons are two handed. @ comment #1: Well, I did give stats for rune mostly... But, you're right, I didn't. @ comment #2: Right. Ergo, I listed the Rune 2h Sword and its ASR under non-dualwielded only. What do halberds have to do with this?
  15. All those symbols look painful. Too much clutter. Couldn't it be something like purple=mage, red=melee, and orange=range? With gray=other person's? Heal splats in Dungeoneering could be changed to magenta. Having splats in a bunch of extra colors would look cleaner, I'd think.
  16. It sounds like generally a good idea, though I have a couple points: Doesn't 'imbue at altar' sound easier than 'fletch 10-million coin gem' to you? Even if the altar needs a hard quest... "Gorgamite" sounds cooler than "Gorgadamite".
  17. Weapons like the DDS would become too powerful. Defenders would become as pointless as the Guthix book. 2x DDS: +80 Stab +50 Slash +80 Strength +0 Prayer; 74k (ASR Quotient*: 2666.67) Saradomin Sword: +82 Slash +60 Crush +82 Strength +2 Prayer; 8492k The 74k dual dds would become as good a stab weapon as the 8492k sara sword is for slash. And it would be poisonable. And have a better special attack. Almost any other weapon would be rendered obsolete. Restricting dual-wield to rune and below doesn't help much: 2x Rune Warhammer: +106 Crush + 96 Strength; 50k (ASR Quotient: 2826.67) 2x Rune Longsword: +94 Slash +98 Strength; 38k (ASR Quotient: 3070.67) 2x Rune Scimitar: +90 Slash +88 Strength; 62k (ASR Quotient: 3300) 2x Rune Sword: +76 Slash +78 Strength; 25k (ASR Quotient: 2470) 2x Rune Mace: +78 Crush +72 Strength; 17k (ASR Quotient: 1872) 2x Rune Dagger: +50 Slash +48 Strength; 9k (ASR Quotient: 1000) Comparing to current items in F2P: Rune Longsword: +47 Slash +49 Strength; 19k (ASR Quotient: 1535.33 767.67) Rune Scimitar: +45 Slash +44 Strength; 31k (ASR Quotient: 1650 825) Rune 2h Sword: +69 Slash +70 Strength; 47k (ASR Quotient: 1150) Notice, the mace, warhammer, sword, scimitar, and longsword all have higher ASRs than the best non-dualwielded weapon. *ASR Quotient: (Attack * Strength)/(Time to attack), Attack-Strength-Rate Quotient. The ASR of an Abyssal Whip is 2801.67. Abyssal Whip with Rune Defender has an ASR of 3661.25. Also, how many people do you know who can even write with both hands, much less fight? EDIT: ASR for single rune long/scimitar was too high.
  18. I personally had lost faith in TTs several months ago, but I decided to try a few after the update, a few clues later, I got a Zammy coif and gold-trimmed rune helm. My faith has been restored by the 650k that clue was worth. Depending on my luck over the next few weeks, I might give up again or not.
  19. I support the Agility idea, LTH_Dev_Ranges' Ranged idea, and Ragmar's Prayer idea. My personal ideas: Woodcutting- Increases chances of getting nests while woodcutting Mining- Increases chances of getting gems while mining Farming- Increased yields from crops Slayer- Slightly increases boost from Slayer Helmet. Maybe a 17% boost instead of a 15% boost? Etcetera.
  20. Literally every single friend I have/had on Runescape is somebody I know in real life, so I'm not bothered if they quit...
  21. Honestly, it seems totally random; I got some pairs in only minutes (It took 250 tuna to get both Cooking rocks) others took hours of grinding to get (It took me forever to get one Smithing rock).
  22. In the interests of Science, I am conducting a study to determine the truths about the claims of the awesomeness of Men drops versus Cave Slime drops: Men: Inventory #1: 5550 GP in 196 seconds, or 28.3 GP/second, or 101938.8 GP/hour. Inventory #2: 12959 GP in 181 seconds, or 71.6 GP/second, or 257748.1 GP/hour. Inventory #3: 11483 GP in 187 seconds, or 61.4 GP/second, or 221063.1 GP/hour. Didn't have a lot of time, but so far it looks like 150-200k an hour is reasonable.
  23. As for base drops, assuming they have any, I'm guessing: -Dragon items buyable from shops, D med, D spear, D shield half, and 'very rare' drop of D chain, and possibly skirt/legs. Pickaxe, hatchet, Halberd, 2h sword, claws, plate, boots, and full helm would not be available. --Trimmed Med Helm, D Chain, D Skirt, D Legs, and D Sq Shield might be among the new clue rewards -Onyx jewelry --Trimmed Fury probably would be one of the clue rewards
  24. It's a quest for low levels. When you were a new player, you wouldn't have liked it if all the quests were for level 100+'s, would you? And your point is? It was designed for movie makers. If you're not one, you don't need to care. Again, you don't need to care. It affects you adversely in no way. How was it ruined? Except they look cool. It's for fun, so why not some ornamental items? Why not? Again, low level content. It's so quick and easy, it doesn't interfere with your precious cape. Well, if you're training fishing, it's reasonable to assume you're in Catherby...
  25. 59-68 summoning, 58-60 range, 77-78 strength, 57-58 agility, 63-64 magic, and 47-54 farming.
