Fastest way to 40 smithing? Please help.

Hey, I'm in need of 40 smithing asap for family crest quest.

 

 

 

I'm currently level 29, and I'd like the fastest way to get there.

 

 

 

According to the calculator, I'd need to smelt around 1.4k steel bars, which will take quite a long time (does anyone know how long?) so I'm hoping for an easier way.

 

 

 

I heard cannonballs are good, but can each steel bar make 4?

1 steel bar = 4 cannonballs

 

 

 

Cannon balls = 200gp

 

 

 

4 * 200 = 800gp

 

 

 

Therefore buy some steel bars from some f2p'rs for less than 800ea (they go for 600ish) and make profit.

 

 

 

I needed 12k bars to get from 68-72 so you will need far far less. It takes roughly 3 minutes to make 27 bars into cannonballs.

Definitely do Knight's Sword. I believe that took me from 1-32 smithing. If you have done it, then just buy coal + iron, smelt into steel, and re-sell for a profit. You could also smelt those bars into cannonballs, yielding a bigger profit, but that would be twice as long.

it actually takes you to 29 smithing. I just did it.

Do Cannon Balls you can make 500 steel bars into balls(2k balls) in an hour.

 

 

 

Should onlt take u an hour or 2 to get 40.

 

 

 

Steel bars are 600-650ea

I'll smelt steel till 35, do the quest, and then smith cannonballs to 40. Where can I get the mould for cannonballs though?

Buy the cannon mould from the dwarf who sells cannons (Up on top of the mountain north of Falador (forgot mountains name #-o ) )

Iron is definitely the way to go if you are a member. Its fast when mining so you can get it yourself quickly or from the huge quantities available from power miners. Use Ring of Forging and make bars into either knives for ranging or selling, arrow heads for fletching, or iron pl8s for alching.

You could also try steel plates and sell them later for 1k each or high alch them too, but I'm not too sure if they're better or worser xp than cannonballs.
