I would love feedback

I've played duke and keen, never heard of kroz though.

I actually broke down a week ago and bought the keen collection over steam for $5. :D

I have played the early duke nukem and Commander Keen.

Played Ken a couple of years ago but it was not the same.

I've only vaguely heard of the Kroz games, but I've beaten both other series, repeatedly.

I bought the entire Keen series last year, I used to play them on floppy disks years back. Ownage.

I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.

You're not alone...

Buuuuuut, for right now, Duke 3D is doing fine to keep me entertained when I need to play a Duke game...I never played the first two though, I don't really like side scrollers.

What are tip.its rules on abandonware and the like? We need to revive these old games and show the young uns how it used to be done.

I'm sure if its abandonware it could be posted. :P

A pretty good guideline would be the Oldwarez list...

http://abandonia.com/main.php?nav=awlist

It's not 100% complete, but it does cover a lot of ground as far as (potential) abandonware is concerned.

Kroz is this qbasic style thing with a little smily face where you run around and try to get whips for weapons and gems as health and try to find the keys around the level to the stairs. You get chased by o's and a's and the occasional "u" around the screen who take your health. Every part of the series is available at various spots on the web like http://www.the-underdogs.info/game.php?id=2231...

I've played Day of the Tentacle from start to finish. It's worth playing for the "flag" cutscene at the end alone :P
