October 10, 200718 yr Ok while I have been playing runescape for the past 3 years I have never found an answer to this question. Are shortbows better than longbows? Is there any difference at all? If so which one would you recommend to use? I feel a little n00bish by posting this but perhaps someone can help me. October 10, 200718 yr Shortbows are faster. They have the exact same ranged bonus, as longbows. Longbows can shoot farther, but a shortbow is better in my opinion, because distance isnt really necessary most of the time. October 10, 200718 yr As stated, shortbows are faster and longbows shoot farther. Since I'm usually close anyways, I like the shortbows so I can rack up xp faster. ~ Proud Father ~ Proud (Currently Deployed) Army National Guardsmen ~ Proud Lakota ~ Retired Tip.It Crew ~
October 10, 200718 yr Short bows and longbows have i believe a single damage difference in that the longbow when using, say, iron arrows will hit possibly 1 damage higher per arrows that short bows, but the overall quickness of the short bows, thus gaining much quicker experience, and the small amount of damage extra doesn't make up for it. I mean seriously, have you ever seen a range pk'er using a Mage Long bow? i don't think so. 99 Fletching 99 Attack 99 Constitution 99 Cooking 99 StrengthGamertag: H8tebringer
October 10, 200718 yr Shortbows Longbows hit 1 higher or so but they're slower and bad for training. October 10, 200718 yr I dont think bow has ANYTHING to do with the damage, only the ammunition matters. Arrows determine the damage, while bows determine the accuracy, rate of fire and special attack In short (no pun intended), damage wise, Long = Short, Speedwise Short >> Long so short > than long for training. 6,924th to 30 hunting, 13,394th to 30 summoning, 52,993rd to 30 DivinationKiln Record (Post-EoC): W 25 - L 0, 14 Uncut Onyx, 8 Jad hits received (Best record: Two in the same kiln)Obby set renewed post update #2: 0QBD drops: 21 crossbow parts, 3 Visages, 1 Kites, 2 KitsMax Port Score [2205] Achieved: 27th April 2013 (World 2nd) Farmyard Rampage ranking: 12th, 50,000 Kills. October 10, 200718 yr Shortbows definately IMO. They're much faster, that's why people prefer a dragon scimmy over a dragon 2 hander. Retired Tip.It Crew Mapper.
