anonymouse_ Posted April 2, 2005 Share Posted April 2, 2005 Well, this is it; I am announcing my final and permanent retirement from RS. A few reasons contributed to this. First and foremost, what really made me realize that this game is pretty much pointless is how I died afc just a few minutes ago...I lost 15K addy arrows and a green mask. Not only that, but a friend of mine also lost my full zammy when he got banned. I guess even after I got 85 mining, it just wasn't the same, and now this happens. This was basically a final blow...I see no point whatsoever to continue playing. I'd rather dedicate this time to school. Those who were there when I died at ice cave, enjoy what you managed to pick up. I'm thankful in a way that this happened to me; it made me realize what is truly important in life: education. An online game will not put food on the table. I know many of you may be thinking this is a joke, but it's not. I will post my bank soon. I might have a drop party, to make others feel better I guess. I will also log in every few months, not to play, but to keep my account from being reset. Until then, it's been great knowing you guys, I've met many great people on RS. RS taught me many things: it taught me persistance and determination to get my goals done. But it also harmed me; because of RS I saw my average drop by about 10%, an average which used to be in the 90's, and I can't believe I didn't quit sooner, but then again, it's better late then never... . Just when I was about to log off, I decided to drop some stuff. One person didn't believe me, so I took out 10K steel arrows, put up in trade screen, and he declined. I later realized that he didn't care about the money. We talked a little, a crowd of beggers formed around us, and he convinced me to periodically keep playing. This came as a surprise to me; I was convinced most people wouldn't care; they'd just take the stuff, leave, and never think about it again. So anyways, I'll stick around Tip.it, RS Community, and RSFAQ. Later guys. Time on RS: February 2004 - April 1, 2005. Goals achieved: Blue Partyhat, 85 mining, 75+ range on F2P. I once got scammed of full sara and 2 santas, i got mad and quit for around 4days, then i started again.... And then another time I was hacked and lost my purple phat, that was a keylogger it got out of greediness. :oops: But don't quit, do like me, try and get 1k total, im only 2lv's from it.' And when i get it im gonna do some merchanting and have a drop party, maybe you'll come or countribute. But i want you to have a drop party. You wont be dissapointed. Devoting time to school and friends will get you alot further than this game ever will. Good luck in life, I know you will do great things. Know you can get to see what the outside world looks like, unlike everyone else in this post including my self, who are hopelessly entangled in this game. Focus on the important things in life, which contrary to what everyone that plays RS thinks, are not pixels. In almost complete retirement. A year ago I was taking double classes at college for one semester, and I decided RS just needed to stop interfering with it, what with all the all-nighters I kept pulling because of my procrastination playing RS. So I quit, leaving behind friends, fun, and noob-talk. Giving all my stuff to the clan in a final farewell, I logged off for the 'last' time. Then... One year later (or 1 week ago, however you put it), that cru, cold, heartless SOB known as RS called to me. I decided to check in, just for a 'peek'. I was compelled to log on and see how everything'd changed... Then there were some giants nearby and piles of bonessssss!!! I don't know HOW I'm gonna quit again. Anyway, Good luck quitting. At least you got your 85 mining before you quit, that was the biggest goal for you for as long as I remember. Keep it real in life man, and don't get addicted to rs again :wink: .
