Fred_Phred
This might belong in rants but I want advice too! I've been playing this game for about 5 months or so now and maybe I'm naive but is common courtesy not expected at all? This happens all the time but I was killing blue dragons for a slayer task today and got into two arguments with different childish brats. Am I wrong to think that it would be nice if people moved on to another world if the three spawns are all taken instead of busting in on somebody using them? That's what I do! The first guy I argued with just waited until I finished killing like my 10th one and then jumped in. All I said is "thats rude" and then the brat went on a tirade about me not owning the spot. There was even open spots to the north (I was ranging from just inside passageway in southwest corner. The second idiot was worse. we were both up by where the two in the north spawn and he'd kill one and time it so he'd attack the one I was using before I could. Basically taking both the spawns and just laughing and calling me a noob. So the question is, do you guys ignore these people, fight with them, move to another world (after doing so to find the spot in the first place), or what? I can't stand it any more. I actually like a good argument and I'm quite good at it but c'mon people, is it wrong to expect a little curtesy?

Twist of Fate
Just ignore them. They're ignorant losers who will go through life arguing thinking they're right all the time. You're not the only one who doesn't like them. Nopheo
Use curse for a quick cast. Magic is faster than range. After one cast you have the monster so just range it as you were or melee if thats what you'd like. This will let you beat them to the creature and not have to switch. Curse is what I use cause it lowers def.

Fred_Phred
thanks for the advice! Btw, I forgot my favorite from the other day. I was ranging fire giants for my slayer task. There was another guy ranging by the door in the same spot. It wasn't overly crowded so we were fine and had no wait for kills. Neither of us said anything until he just blurted out "U stats stink" and tele'd out. That one actually gave me a good laugh. He was lower level and I didn't check his stats but I'm guessing by the comment and the attitude he was a pure.

Fred_Phred
I still don't understand why people expect others online to act polite and proper. That is more ignorant to say than anything I've heard yet? Why can't you expect that? Did you ever learn common decency or are you just some loser kid that doesn't care about other people? And I wouldn't say I expect people to be "polite and proper" just respectful and show a little bit of courtesy. If you're a jerk online then you're probably a jerk offline as well. Some people forget that the other "characters" in this game are actually real people. You don't have to extra polite, just don't be a childish brat. Warrager
I still don't understand why people expect others online to act polite and proper. Ever heard of "common courtesy"? People like you make Runescape a flaming game, and full of derogatory comments. If you wouldn't say things in real life, then why say them on an online game? People like you make Runescape a flaming game, and full of derogatory comments. If you wouldn't say things in real life, then why say them on an online game? Well first off, you don't know kind of person I am and shouldn't make an assumption out of one of my posts. I'm probably one of the more courteous and polite people in-game. However, I've come to terms that 90% of other players are no where near that nice. It's obviously not right to act that way, but there's no changing some people. People need to start just realizing that and stop posting that others aren't like them. It's not much different than in the real world. EDIT: And you guys seem to have forgot the age group of most players in this game. Little kids. Many of them don't know how to act and don't really care. I have several friends with siblings who play this game, and see them flaming other players a lot. I've asked one of them why he does it, he said it's fun and doesn't really realize that someone may be hurt.

It's not much different than in the real world. Well if people who say things like you just said kept those comments to themselves, the world would be better off. I don't care how "polite" you are in real life. What annoys me is that people like you think in real life they're nice, so anything goes online. It's a game, yes, but does it need to be filled with; noob! safer! def noob, farcaster, etc? I don't think so.
icecube
Once again you've not only misinterpreted what I said, but assumed incorrectly about me. I'm one of the most generous, courteous players in game. I help players who I see in-game, I give out free items, I have never flamed another player, or even called them a name like safer or noob, etc. I'm merely stating the fact that, this will never change with this game, nor any other. That's how people act on the internet. If you expect a change, make a change with the world.

If you are truly as you say, then I guess your only problem is a defeatist attitude! :) Anyway, I didn't mean this to become a flame war but if one person sees this and behaves better I'd be happy! Curse is what I use cause it lowers def. air strike works well too Yeah a lot of people use air strike. People can suggest for one because no one is too low to cast it. The main reason for it I would say is that it only takes 2 runes while curse has 3 types and 6 total. Personally, I have a mud staff and just bring bodies so its only two inventory for me as well. Also, curse gives you more magic exp(same if failed) and bodies are in more excess. Finally, the spell causes the monster's def to be lowered making the kill easier. However, the main purpose is to keep your monster so whatever.

This is where favorite saying comes in, "Would you hold the door open for someone else, or slam it in their face and say "NOOB! YOU DONT OWN THIS PLACE!" and run away?" It holds true to what most people do. As for your problem, not much can be said or done. Just ignore them, and switch worlds. 99 Crafting :: 39,750th || 99 Attack :: 1,775th
