Jacobien
Well this rant is pretty much about "trying" to obtain runescape membership using two companies that do not know what they are doing. Here's the story. A few months ago i had some problems with my paypal account which forced me into negative membership credit on Runescape. I kinda quit until the start of October when i felt like playing again. So i checked up the website seeing how i could pay for the return of my membership. Seeing as i was in negative credit i was forced to use the PayByCash option. I clicked the PBC link and was given a lot of options of how i wanted to pay. One option was PayPal (by this time i had fixed up my prior problems) so i chose to once again use PayPal. Signed up for 6 months of membership but i had ~90 days of negative credit so i asked Jagex and they said that my 90 days of negative would be taken away from my 6 months - leaving me with approx. 3 months of credit. So i send Jagex the money via PayPal and it transfers that same day. I wait two days and i still haven't received my membership. So i message Jagex and they say "We are still waiting for PayByCash to send us confirmation of your payment". But Jagex already had my money, i had the PayPal records to prove it. I sent them another two messages and both times it was the same answer. Fed up with their incompetence i opened a dispute with Jagex through PayPal asking for a refund. A few days later i get my money back minus a few dollars (transaction fees probably - dunno). A message came with the refund saying that i couldn't use PayPal due to a prior reversal. Maybe if they made it a bit more clear in the beginning, instead of telling me to use PayByCash they should've said - "use the 'payment through the mail' option with PayByCash" instead of just PayByCash which has many different payment choices. Well now i have my money back but no membership. So this time i am forced to send the money in the post. So i head down to the local post office and have to buy a registered international post envelope so i can make sure my money doesn't get lost in the mail (better to be safe than sorry). Wait two weeks. Two weeks later i get an email from PayByCash telling me i had to send them $25.02USD to get my account unlocked from negative credit. I send them back an email telling them to deduct the negative credit from the rest of the payment. They send me an email saying that they can do that but i'll have to resubscribe again for one month and reply to the email with a subscription ID. I do this. Then wait. One week later they send me an email telling me that my payment was successful and that i should be able to access my account. Woohoo finally i thought. It was all over. I go to the runescape homepage. I go to log in. "You're account has been disabled. Please check your message-centre for details" Maybe they need another 24 hours to process them, i thought. 24 hours later. Still not able to log in. So i send Jagex a message asking them why can't i log in. They reply telling me that only 30 days of negative credit has been paid back. WHAT?!?! NO!!! This is my present situation. I've sent both Jagex and PayByCash an email explaining, but i really don't think they will understand. Yes this was a fairly long rant, i don't care if you don't read it all i just needed to vent :wall:

Er, PaybyCash only has like 3 main options; cheque, cash, or money order. Its conception was because some people too young to use credit cards could still subscribe to online games using paybycash, or other conditions when there's problems with paypal. The reason they told you to use PaybyCash instead of Paypal is itself an indication of what they meant. If you sent this to paybycash in the first place, perhaps with a small slip explaining the situation, none of this would have happened. They told you to use paybycash so you used paypal, and then you did the rest of the operation with totally ambiguous information. Jagex and Paybycash process thousands of orders a day, they don't "know" your situation enough to do everything perfectly, especially considering you didn't clearly explain to them your strange situation anyway. Hardly seems like their fault. :shame: RSN: Manaleak

tuttle43
Hearing things like this make me so thankful that I have a debit card to pay for membership. I'm sorry you're having a hard time getting membership. I've killed over 20,000 dust devils while training to 99 attack and have still not gotten a dragon chain. Makoto_the_Phoenix
This'd be one reason why I don't have a Paypal account. A whole load of drama that I could live without. Here's what you do -- send the rest of the negative credit (if you still feel like it) through PayByCash [mail]. I've used it for about three years and it hasn't steered me wrong yet. I (wrongly) thought that you could use PayPal through PayByCash. I can forgive them for that. What really annoys me though is that PBC didn't use the money i sent them to unlock my account. They told me they would do that. With the rest of the money they said i would have to subscribe for one month of membership. Now Jagex say i've only paid for one month and my account is still locked.
