  1. I have quit a few times in the past, either for grades or because of boredom. This time however I'm actually going through with it. A while back I was posting on some threads here, saying that things wouldn't be so bad. That was me being blindly optimistic, and after all the RWT updates I don't recognize the RuneScape I have played for three years. I canceled my subscription yesterday and don't plan on ever returning. The only way I could come back would be if things were changed back to the way they were, but that will never happen. Now I'm on to bigger and better MMORPGs with unrestricted trading, working "lootshare" systems, and fully supported clans (not WoW). I've enjoyed the community of RuneScape over the years, but too much has changed and I am quiting for good.
  2. People will constantly call me "turtle". That's the only one that annoys me. Some that I don't mind are tut, tutts, and tootle.
  3. If you want to train strength without getting hit I would suggest using a dragon halberd on dust devils or fire giants.
  4. Here's the thing, KrazyFaken never intended for his name to be offensive. It was a bunch of wannabe mods that reported his "offensive" name. The name is not even remotely offensive, you have to manipulate it several times before it becomes offensive. With this in mind the following names should be considered offensive: Butch Batch Botch Skunk Spit Bull Bass Ace Cant Cent Ship Shift Fudge Funk Nagger etc etc.. Where does the witch hunt end? All of these words are perfectly acceptable in everyday conversation, but leave it to someone with a perverted mind and you get an offensive word. Jagex should not be catering to this minority who see vulgarity in a name only to report it to boost their chances of getting their silver crown. A very good read once again Qeltar.
  5. I mostly listen to my "Free Beer and Hot Wings" podcasts, but if I feel like it I'll listen to the music from the "Dream Mentor" quest, its the best music imo.
  6. I would like for my rune essence pouches to auto fill and auto empty. For each run into the abyss I end up clicking 13 times in the bank, a few more times to make it out to the mage, then another 13 times at the altar (my numbers could be off a little). If auto fill and empty were put in place 26 clicks would be taken out of the equation.
  7. Yeah if i ever decided to go back to rs id auto my way back to riches. The macroers will be arround in force now that the rmts have no other way to get gold except constant grind. You jagex suckups sure did win, turned the game into a pile of crap and the autoing will continue. =D> I respect r2 a great deal but what do you mean learnt the error of his ways, i have him on msn and his current sold count is at 20 billion, and i suspect by january it will be closer to 25, he is selling more gold then anyone else arround. There's no point for autoing continue. Come January, the people who operate bots will be unable to trade unbalanced sums of gold to buyers. It goes like this: No more unbalanced trades = No more RWT No more RWT = No more bots to fund RWT No more bots The only bots that will be left will be the ones operated by people who want to level, but who would risk that? There is no more potential to make gold off autoing with the intent to sell it.
  8. That's all fine and nice, if only revenants were hanging around the zamorak mage. At the moment I can craft all day without ever running into more than one. I've made over 12k death runes and only been frozen twice, but only after the mage had teleported me.
  9. "Do not disturb" If the gravestone is a rockin' don't come a knockin'
  10. You took the words right out of my mouth. I hope Jagex can add some danger back to the abyss before too much damage is done.
  11. PC was a mistake from the start. A minigame never should have replaced traditional training. OT: I was runecrafting as usual, seeing a lot more traffic though, and I was asked how to use the abyss on three separate occasions. #-o
  12. I do the same thing that I've been doing for months. I craft death runes through the abyss. I make an average of 1-1.2M per day. Now if I could just stop spending it and actually save.....
  13. Abyss runecrafting is a joke now, a shell of its former self. It saddens me to see so many people using the abyss now, who before were to scared to use it. I'll admit that I disliked abyss pkers, but I know that they were a vital part of the abyss. They kept the the faint of heart away and gave those bold enough to use the abyss a sense of competition. It was pkers who kept the abyss from being abused, and runes flooding the market. Now, I can use the abyss with no teleports, sara brews, or armor and know that I'll be perfectly safe. I have crafted 12k deaths and only been attacked by a ghost once. The abyss needs to be rebalanced before the runecrafting community is changed forever. The abyss can still be saved. I would recommend some of the following: >Make abyss monsters capable of freezing or poisoning players. >Make revenent ghosts more common in the low level wilderness. >Allow pking to take place in certain high traffic areas, such as by the Zamorak mage, green dragons, and North of Varrok. (If pking takes place only in these locations it will be almost impossible for RWT to take place safely). (Not my #1 choice since there are gaps to allow RWT.) If anyone has any other suggestions I would love to hear them.
  14. This is where I say: I told you so. Unbalanced trades: gone Drop trading: gone Death by pk trading: gone EDIT: Runecrafters: 1 Abyss PKers: 0
  15. I like this idea a lot. I was thinking that there should some kind of quota for the day. This means that only X accounts could be created per day across all servers. Another idea that I had would be some kind of waiting period, maybe twelve hours. At the beginning of the waiting period you would need to give an e-mail address and after the time was up you would be given an activation code that you would use to log in for the first time. You could only create one account per e-mail, meaning that you could only create one account every twelve hours. Another variation of this would be that one e-mail account could only make one RuneScape account per week. This would be very inconvenient for people who make bot accounts unless they had hundreds of e-mail accounts.
  16. I think a speculation forum would be a good idea. With Jagex cracking down on RWT I'm seeing more speculation threads about what they'll do to the game next. Here's an image of the first page of the general discussion forum, speculation threads in red boxes. [hide] [/hide]
  17. I want to know what makes you think that the bounty hunter mini game will be a high risk game. We know nothing of this update and all that speculation causes is more questions. I'm going to say that BH will be a safe mini game, but my guess is as good as yours. Just wait until later this week (most likely tomorrow) to see what BH is like. I really think that this forum needs a speculation sub forum so general won't be so clogged with these kinds of threads.
  18. Unfortunately merchanting is still viable. I went to sell my 9000 rune arrows for the average price of 450ea on the first day. I wasn't making any progress and went to the GE to find out why. When I got there I found out that my rune arrows were 100gp above the max market price, so they wouldn't sell unless I lowered them to 350ea. Until the rune arrow price normalizes back to 450ea I'll be holding onto them.
  19. Tuttle43 [img=http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd160/ad25cost/RuneScape/attackcape.png] I just got this today, it's been quite a trip.
  20. Very good point. Other people have said this earlier in the thread and came up with a solution. Items less than 100k could still be traded directly, like antipoison. *Another solution is to be on Lunar magic or know a lunar mage (I haven't used an anti in months)
  21. You can still drop items, as many as you like actually. The only difference is that other players will not be ale to see what you drop. I'll quote myself from page 3 of this thread.
  22. I'd say this would be an exaggeration. As you know, everyime a new item appears, prices are massively unstable. If jagex were to ban people for paying wild prices, a lot of innocent people would get banned. Also, people pay wild prices if they want items immediately, or if they are unsure of the price. I don't think jagex would be so quick to ban, prehaps just flagging that person up to be watched/black marked With the release of a new item, Jagex could disable the monitors for that item for the first few weeks, or make the detection system more lenient until the item reaches a steady price. For people saying that prices will be controlled to tightly, this isn't true. If you really need a magic short bow for training and want it fast you could offer 10k and it won't look suspect. Once a player starts offering 300-400% the normal price, that would be when the detection system kicks in. There's a difference between paying high for convenience (200% of normal price) and trading for gold transfer (300% and up).
  23. Perhaps you could elaborate and contribute to the discussion, rather than insulting the author.
  24. If you can't trade with other people or drop items how is the economy going to survive? The economy will be contained in the Grand Exchange. Like I've said before, if more GE branches are placed in other cities then things will run almost as normal as they do now. Compare these two scenarios: 1: The Current Economy You're standing in world 2 Falador in the sea of traders and merchants. You're typing feverishly, shouting "selling X for X", but you're being drowned out by the flashing, scrolling, waving text. You spend half an hour to an hour trying to sell your wares. That is a lot of wasted time that could be spent skilling, PKing, or playing a mini game. You then think, "I'll go to a less populated world and try selling in a bank", but there is a drawback. You are only reaching a very small audience, who are most likely not looking to buy what you are selling. Next, you move to the forums, make a new thread and wait for a reply. The problem with this is that your potential buyer is not online and will find your thread after you log off. With these methods trading is a game of hit or miss and very unpredictable. 2: A Central Economy Under the Grand Exchange You have just finished fletching 5k yew long bows and you want to sell and get back to skilling. You walk to the nearest Grand Exchange location and put up your items for sale. While you're there you see a number of yew logs and bow string for sale and take this opportunity to buy the supplies of your trade. You get back to fletching in a matter of minutes. With a central trading system players can more readily get the supplies for skilling and get back to training faster. Both of these scenarios can be reversed and put in the perspective of a buyer and retain the same results. Dropping Items Players will still be able to drop items as they do now, but with one exception. If a player drops an item, it will no longer appear to others. It will stay on the ground for the normal amount of time, then disappear. This will give the player enough time to pick up an accidentally dropped item and prevent drop trading. Drop parties are already covered with the party room, this aspect will not be affected. Drops from monsters will not be changed, if a player does not pick up their drop it will appear for others to see and pick up.
  25. The economy will not be destroyed, it will be damaged but quickly heal and take on a new form. It will be up to us to adapt, it's that simple. It will naturally be a rough transition, but if we can bear with the changes everything will stabilize and eventually settle at a new normal. We will still be able to buy and sell, it will just be slightly inconvenient. This is what will happen if Jagex removes direct trading and dropping. In all likelihood this will never happen, but if it does we can adapt.
