Edit- added dragon axe and surrounding scenery. I have to shade the armor tomorrow and fix the shading on the p-hat. Edit- Added shading to the armor, cept the boots suck. Im really sick of all this stupidity. Unless you were going for "Comic book character run over by a steam roller", then I think it looks like crap. Need assistance in any of these skills? The "You can't do better, so you can't criticize" is a terrible way of thinking. Ever criticize a really bad movie? Or a really bad president? Or an olympic athlete who messed up? Or a pop star who missed a note? Or maybe just a pro football player who missed a catch? Of course you have, we all have. Yet I know you can't do any of those things better than the professionals. You don't have to own a bar of gold to know that copper is inferior. Same goes for art, you don't have to have talent to recognize a lack of talent. Need assistance in any of these skills? Quer_Skulll Posted April 20, 2005 Share Posted April 20, 2005 I'm being pretty blunt here, but if you are using MSPaint for your sigs, chances are they aren't very good. There are a select few who can use MSPaint and make excellent pixel sigs. They know who they are. If you aren't one of them, I suggest you practice, practice, practice. It will take dozens of hours (only an assumption) to get decent at making pixel sigs. This type of art is incredibly detailed when done right, and takes many hours (just ask a pro) to complete successfully. Most importantly here, don't post your first pixel sig. They are rarely good and most times don't stand a chance. Now I'm not trying to insult anyone here, but ask many people and they will say the same. just dont post your first pixel sig.. the shading is... terrible. the guy looks like hes run over by a steam waltzer. King, i'll say a few things here. - His body looks beveled. and its bad. Realy, REALY bad. - His head is just a circle. have you seen people's heads in real life? they arn't circles.0 - The hat too look beveled. The shading you tried is very off. - The axe.... looks like a stick with two arrows going out of it. The ends need to be quite a bit larger. - His eyes are just bloodshot red, not sure if you realy wanted that. - The nose... is big. O.o - The scene is just very plain. Very very plain, nothing there but i guy who... well looked like he got rolled over by a steam roller. Heres a tip for you king. If you can draw please.. please don't try and pixel. I don't know why so many people try it when they can barly get a stick person down, because it doesn't work out! If you truly want to get better, practice drawing. Practice it a lot. Go search for some posts made by Tttia and go through his tutorials and such for learning to draw better. Then, come back here and try again. But not untill you have a character that at least looks human... and also, I'd advise you not to flame the others. Line art is the most important part of a pixel drawing. You can shade and stuff as much as you want, but if the line art is terrible, it won't make a difference. Your next "Attempts" should be fixing the modeling, not just trying to color it better. Teenageloser: Did I ever post a "OMG LOOK HERE GIVE ME CC???" Kind of post? NO. The only time I ever even made an abstract sig was for my "FREE sigs" thread. Which, may I add, were all FREE. And many of the people were very appreciative, even if the sig was terrible in comparison to other sigs. Not to mention that I have never even claimed to be a good sig maker. Nobody likes you anyway, so why don't you just go kill yourself. This thread isn't even about me, why do you post futile public assaults on me that have nothing to do with the subject of the thread. I've made quite a few friends off of tip.it. Not to mention the most important Neo_bahumat who's soon to be my roommate. And we smell? Do you have a wagon sniffer tracker or something? That was an inane and futile attempt and making a derogatory statement. A lot of pieces of art here are beatific and they got that way through CC. I had absolutely no clue what to do when it came to making sigs backin august, but I came a long way because of the criticism and the help others gave me.
