DFS vs Defender

Hello All,

 

 

 

if you have your choice between the DFS or a Rune Defender what would you pick. I have both and I am actually leaning toward the Defender. Let me know what everyone else thinks. For the coolness factor I know the DFS is best, but since I am trying to get to 99 slayer not sure it is the best for me.

 

 

 

Also, I have an obby shield so if you think that is best.

DFS > defender... but onmonsters like goblin,skeleton,hobgoblin,... is better runde defender coz it have some att bonuses and u have more chance to kill monster on 1 hit...

DFS lol its the best shield in the game, but if u want to sacrifice str for def go for defender, but if u want to last longer at slayer DFS hands down

I use DFS on 99% of my slayer tasks.

 

more defence =>less hits => less guthaning time => faster slaying.

 

especially on long, high level monsters tasks.

i'd say i use dfs for 70% of tasks and defender for 30%. if the monsters under 80-90cb its not really worth bringing the extra def bonuses, but for things like abyssals, nechs, gargs i use dfs. Also, if you're praying melee for tasks like dark beasts or black demons, defender's a must.

I don't have on either but i heard DFS is quite a bit better then rune defender on what I'v heard.

 

 

 

Also if I had one I would defiantly use it over defender.

Its the question of defense bonus vs. Att bonus..

 

 

 

Like if your fighting some fire giants or something that maxes at 10+ you might want to take a DFS to reduce the amount of time spent using guthans. However if you feel like your defence is good enough and would prefer to kill them faster then a defender is your "shield" of choice.

 

 

 

That's pretty much what I do to determine if I want to use certain NPCs.

 

 

 

DFS for defence and Defender for attack.

I've tried both and i prefer the defender over the dfs. The improvement in accuracy is much more useful than the defence bonuses.

DFS always except for two cases:

 

 

 

- the monster doesn't hurt much (thus defense doesn't matter)

 

- pking, where attack apparently is better than defense

 

 

 

Anywhere else it's no contest. The attack bonuses of the defender are very small, and the defense bonuses from dfs are massive so IF you have the cash and need it, then go for it.

This is like comparing a t shirt to a bullet proof vest. Except for monsters you can 1 hit kill the DFS is better. It has better stats and can help you do damage. And its cool. Cool and quality very rarely come in the same package, why not take advantage of it?

dfs for monsters that eithor hit alot or with fire breath and defender for lower level monsters

Since I am a prayer n00b, and use protections whenever I am not safing, I would keep with my defender, and only use the DFS at dragons, and the things I fight after dragons :P
