I've always wondered what zezima will do after attaining all 99's. Maybe he will express a dislike to rares, and strive to rid them from the game, the only thing is, in the ned he wil have to pay 500mil for the last party hat, because can you imagine having the only one in the game!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I hope its something hes interested in, i really dont like to see merchants take over the game in the way they have.

Rare items are why people participate in these stupid little games anyways. Look at ffxi. They have huge holiday events that last up to 3 weeks long so everyone has a chance to get the cool items. The whole point people do this is to get the money for the stuff afterwards. For instance, there is a firework in the game that gives you a little spooky mask, if you collect lets say 99 of them you could sell them all to people at about 1k-3k per on the 4th of July. But this only happens at other events that you can make money like this.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If there are to be rare items they need to be more abundant. I have an idea that would fix the whole thing. Let the strongest creatures in the game drop all the rare items and have only happen in the wilderness. Ya that will do it because the people who can collect the money to buy them also are the same people that would/could go to the wilderness and kill 1000 of these creatures to get the damn item. Ha. Better yet bring them out again, every 4th of July and every New Years you'd be able to get P.hats, every Halloween you'd be able to get pumpkins that you could turn into jack-o-lanters bla bla bla.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Problem solved. Increase the availability of these items and the value will decrease.

Why hate a poor innocent party hat? It hasn't done anything to you. I am one of many "legit" phat owners. It's not our fault we picked up a holiday drop and later people wanted them. We didn't even know RS would last this long so it's not like we were being greedy picking up things and keeping them.

If i ever got insanely rich and decided to quit, i would first buy all the rares in the game, eat all the eggs and pumpkins, open the crackers, drink the wines and alch all the masks phats and disks. .

Lol, personifying an computer image of a hat. Really, I have no problem with you owning a hat since you've been playing for so long. I am against the merchating of hats and other rares. That's why I'd dump all the hats into the River Salve :) Then people would have to really earn their gp.

I do understand what you mean, though. Merchanting is my most underdeveloped skill - in the old days I even refused to do medium-big trades with people I didn't know but now RS is too big for that.

very simple reason: take this for instance, some1 has 50 santas lets say there 5mil each, so he has 250mil of santas, now lets say he alchs 2 to 3 of em, looses 15mil, now if he displays or the ruenscape community finds out lets say their is a scare price goes to 6mil on stantas, now he has 47 at 6mil each, that makes i=his santas worth 282mil, a 32mil profit

Hmm... lets see. Well, the only holiday / rare item I hold of any value would be my bunny ears, just because of the fact that it's untradable and not many are around, at least that you see, any more. Despite the fact that I have all the holiday items released after the bunny ears, and none of them before.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I had a mask set that I bought when it cost like 300k per mask... it was fun for like a week, then I sold it again. Go figure a few days afterwards the price sky rocketed...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

To me, though, I guess I am in the same boat. I don't want, nor could I afford, a blue p hat, but let people spend money how they want, even if you think it's a huge waste. I personally think it's silly. I'd rather get 99 prayer then a blue phat, but that's just me.

How so? People would just find different ways to spend money. People say prices for ores and what not would go up, that could be... but it would just be a matter of time before thing's settled again. I don't nessesarilly think the prices would go up, I just think you would see alot less people having no luck of selling stuff on the forum.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Either way, if the prices went up or down, it really wouldn't matter. Think about it, if you get your money via fishing... your fish sell for more, and if the price of steel bars went up, it wouldn't matter because your getting more for oyur lob / swordfish / shark...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Then there's people who get money from drops / hunting rares / pking. Well, I suppose the cost of drag and whatnot would rise as well then? And staking... I don't think staking would change at all.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Right now, it's just like capitalism whereas 2% of the players hold the majority of the wealth, but it's just imaginary wealth.... I don't know what I am talking about any more, because I'm so sleep deprived I could eat a horse. Good day.
