They're based on a set of emoticons form another forum I frequent, they're just blown up alot

 

and with a few creative differences. The originals are here.

EDIT: By the way, that ninja one at the top is 137 frames! It took forever to do but it kind

 

of backfired anyway because, though the animation is very smooth, even at maximum

 

speed that's as fast as it can go.

I made those .gifs, when I say they're copies I mean I didn't come up with the concept

 

for them. Like I just looked at the emoticons and made a larger version of them. None of them

 

are actually copies (if you tried to expand an image that small into one the size that those

 

are you'd just get a pixelated mass of junk). I mean, you get what I'm sayin' here? It's like

 

when someone paints a sunset, they didn't really invent the idea for the painting, they're just copying

 

down what nature shows them although I guess that's a bad example since painting a sunset

 

is alot more difficult than making a .gif. :-s

A .gif is a file type, it can be used like a regular image, but you can put several pictures

 

together to make like a moving picture, and you can use effects like transparency

 

(which is why those images don't have anything around them, the background on them

 

is just transparent).

transparant is also at png gif is lower quality file format most of the time. its total name is: Graphics Interchange Format. its used to make animated pictures. just like kashi said:P

The point is a trained monkey, with enough time and technical knowledge, can just 'copy' something. However just copying something doesn't take much artistic creativity, unless you're really adding to it.

I already gave a pretty good example of what this is. If someone's doing a copy of a

 

famous painting, you don't insult them just because it isn't an original work. Now if

 

it's a very low quality copy and just looks bad, you could criticize them for that, but I'm

 

not asking you to judge these as a creative piece, judge them as a copy.

These aren't good, they are very simple and the effort is minimal.

 

 

 

Work on making them unique, yes they are copies, but just making them bigger and animated doesn't constitute skill.

 

 

 

And I think your analagy to the famous painting is just your inability to take criticism.

these have some comic value, but there isn't much here to comment on. If you want some serious critique I think you need to reconsider what you expect people to say.

Funny.. but why'd you have to make them so big?? My poor computer can't handle it! :wall:

 

 

 

Hmm.. not really much to say here.. The shading(on the ones with shading) looks odd.. pillow shading, I think..

 

 

 

The Ninja one's eyes move too slow(or is that my computer?).. you need to use less frames, methinks..

 

 

 

Overall I give you seven kittens out of twenty.

 

-Five kittens out of ten for draftsmanship

 

-Two kittens out of ten for creativity(except for the Russian+Dragon Ball Z ones.. or did you copy those too? 7 kittens out of ten)
