I'm trying to set up an Xbox Live profile, but every time I enter my Windows Live address (which is just an msn e-mail right? I think it said it is) it keeps telling me "Xbox Live sign up is currently unavailable". Is this a problem on my end, or is there something going on elsewhere? f it is me, what do I need to do to fix it?

apparently xbox live is a messed up at the momment so i would wait a while

basicly, you need to use an msn hotmail account to link to your gamertag. you type one in when you create your xbox live account and its linked to that for recovery and for using xbox.com. ive just looked on an xbox forums and there are many people having the same problem as you so i wouldnt worry about it to much as its not on your end.

I have a router and everything, but everytime I try connecting it up something bad happens and I don't get signed on. What am I supposed to do?

 

 

 

Better yet, could someone please go to the trouble and type out instructions? O:)

I couldn't connect to a GH3 game last night(tried over 10) and I've been disconnected from a few COD4 games, so I'm thinking that there are problems.

Yea, you did :P Microsoft confirmed it's down, completly now, and also any Live account (meaning you can't sign in on any Live ID service, such as MSN).

It's terrible if you go to the Xbox.com forums, people are ranting and whinnying their heads off because "microsoft cant even get basic connections right" acting like this happens all the time...Although admittedly it is some bad timing, with everyone getting new 360s, such as your case.

Hm. I can't get a CoD4 party going at all, but I can talk to my friends just fine... :? Live has been having so many random bugs lately, it's a little ridiculous...

I saw earlier people ranting about how this happens a lot. I don't think it does, though, but they kept comparing it to PS3, which apparantly never has this problem. i think it's just because a bunch of people got Live for Christmas and are joining now, so the servers got overloaded or something.

That will do no good, It's not really a problem like that. The live servers are getting overloaded from all the new subscribers they got for the Holidays.

 

 

 

What they should have done is gotten more servers to anticipate this. I would have thought they would have gotten a lot more because this also happened with the Halo 3 launch which the servers were extremely slow. It makes you think where your $50 a year is going to :wall: .

I suspect it will be fixed later today. My dad called this employee Sunday afternoon to help hook it up, and the employee expected it to go on for a couple more hours. It can't last forever.

Well I finally got signed in and everything, but now I have a general question: Is it possible to mix profiles? All my achievements are on my other, regular profile, and for especially H3 it has better things for multiplayer (campaign achievements, Hayabusa armor). So is there any way I can transfer at least achievements, or do I have to do everything else over again on the XBL profile? Some of them H3 campaign achievements took quite a while...
