Yeah, :roll: is the sarcasm smiley, but I think we need another. I for one tend to think very negatively when I see it. It can have pretty spiteful implications that the user didn't intend for, methinks. I had a big misundestanding with someone because of it once.

2) An offtopic discussion does nothing to get a solution to the original subject posted by the OP. All it does is cloud the original purpose and nothing gets done. If you want new smilies (which as been shot down before already), go make a new topic instead of taking one over like is being done here and you're trying to do to the Linux sticky thread in T&C.

Discussing adding emotions is anything but off topic for this thread and having several threads discussing similar topics does nothing but create spam. And the Linux sticky thread is unrelated to this thread and if you have a problem you should bring it up there.

I guess I need to remind you that the topic of this thread is "Increase the emoticons count" not "New emoticons". The OP also specifically replies to Sith saying he correctly interpreted what the thread was aiming for, and that certainly was not new emotions even after several replies thinking it was. I suggest you reread it instead of dragging yet another thread further offtopic.

 

 

 

The entire purpose of the Forum Updates and Suggestions board is for, guess what, updates and suggestions. Adding new emoticons is within that 'suggestions' realm and isn't in the blacklist thread. You calling it spam is just trying to, once again, further your own arguments.

I must agree with Tripsis. I made the initial mistake when I made the first post under a mis-interpretation; I've acknowledged the mistake, and the discussion should return to the Emoticon count, rather than Emoticons themself.

Anyone remember my thread, 'An annual smiley contest?'? It just turned into a contest discussion, which missed the point entirely...

Your first post doesn't clearly state you would like the amount of emotions included per post to increased to over 10 at all.

 

 

 

To be honest, I run a blog which goes over the smily limit of 10 emotions per post quite a lot. I don't sit there whining about not being able to include all the little smily faces but instead just quickly edit all the smily faces out until I am below 10 smilys and can complete the post. No one has ever noticed when i've done this and it really is not worth changing. I can imagine getting very annoyed seeing threads with tons of smilys on them for no apparent reason.
