lpinkus
Not to be picky... but I always found it curious that no strength xp is given while mining. You get a nominal amount of mining xp while mining for rune essence, so why not a nominal amount of strength xp while mining in general. I assume JAGeX doesn't want strength stats out of proportion, but it seems logical that swinging a heavy pick and driving it into rocks would make one stronger. By the way, I'm not looking for an easy way to raise my strength level, I just found this curious. lpinkus
Dadisman
You'd think. Really it should be a combo between str/att, but go figure. Same for woodcutting. I guess it's because they want you to get those stats in combat since they are 'combat stats.

landlubber
i don't think that str xp should be given while mining. when your mining lvl gets higher then you can mine better. and some people don't want to raise combat lvls.
ixfd64
Well, it would be realistic if certain skills gave exp towards strength. But then again, balance is more important than realism. Kedai
i suggested this a long time back, but it would give miners and unfair advantage, and reasons of what ppl said before
Deaners1212
I can understand where you're coming from but still, it wouldn't be that great to implement into the game. Especially with woodcutting, you just cut trees like willows and up, until the tree is cut down or your inventory is full. Back to P2p soon! somefruity
Dudes and dudettes, above all, remember that runescape is just a game. Everything in it is a game and it was never meant to be realistic. 'Nuff said.

AniseCookies
and some people don't want to raise combat lvls. yupp, thats why no str exp should be given out Another thing that would seem logical is why arnt the anvils and furnaces close....
GreenPixels
Well on the matter of getting XP by other methods, i think you should be able to gain attack and strength xp by a method other then actually hand-to-hand fighting the monster. Defense xp can be gained by ranging and using a staff - something like this should be done for attack and str too.. imo.
Predator
Mining and strength are one of the top skills to raise I think, that would make the game cheap kind of if you could raise both while mining, things would get out of hand and there would be lots of strength characters. lpinkus
Then why not mining xp when you train strenght? Um, because swinging a pickaxe requires muscle, but swinging a sword at an enemy is not swinging a pickaxe at a rock. Again, this is not an idea I want implemented. I posted to start a discussion. I didn't realize there were miners who didn't want to raise their attack level, actually. So I did learn something! lpinkus
lpinkus
oh just go eat pie or something, you worthless piece of pie! I would loooove to know what this means, but I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with my topic. However, I bake pie in real life all the time, so if you were trying to insult me, too bad. All it did was raise my real-life cooking level. :) lpinkus
Vannisterooy
wut about change the mining system into the WC system, juss like we chop willows, we can keep chopping until the trees is down or inventory is full.it's really tired to keep on clicking and dropping while u are doing power mining.
