Hi, I recently got a new computer loaded with a geforce 8400GS 256MB GPU and was wondering if it was good enuoght to run battlefield 2 at a good graphics value, I currently run command and conquer 3 with all settings at high or very high at the resolution around 1000x800 at a good framerate.

I think that it will run BF2 quite well as it is an old game but just want to make sure, another game I plan to get is Counterstrike: source.

btw my other specs are: Intel E4500 2.2ghz dc processor, 2gb ddr2 ram, vista home premium.

8400gs is a terrible card for gaming, its about the same as a GF4 ti4400/ GF5 FX5700/ GF6 6600/ GF7 7300 gs.

What? None of those cards have the same speed or capabilities as the other. The 8400GS is faster than the 7300GS, then guess what, the other cards are even slower.

I would say it would play BF2 on medium settings or higher because the game is fairly old now.

hmm, is battlefield 2 similar to command and conquer 3 in sys requirements or is it much lower cause i can run cc3 at at around 1000x800 all settings to high/very high

No, not really. CC3 is an RTS where you have many units and it can be very memory/processor consuming; the graphics aren't such a big problem. FPS shooters use all three of them and the newest ones need ALOT of it. But then again, I'm no computer expert and I have no idea when these games came out. My guess is that if you can run CC3 you can probably run BF2.
