CowsEatFood
Ok, so I'm trying to get 70 prayer f2p. I calced this and it said I'd almost get 99 range or def if I trained on ice giants (note: I would train on mossies if I was training def, ice giants if I would train range. I'd get almost 97 def by training on mossies). So I was wondering which 99 I should get. I was thinking about range, since that would require less food and less banking... but I wanted your opinions =P. And also I was thinking I could get 99 def after getting range by training on giant spiders/flesh crawlers and vice-versa.
Fusionxx
99 range, If it were up to me. :-k
Knight_Zaros
99 Range would be cool. But if your f2p and only going to be f2p I'd recommend lvl 99 def, it'll have more uses for you. Cause i mean imo range is kind of pointless in f2p. Def helps with all combat styles. No matter what your doing. Def gets my vote! Captainkidd
Both, use Long range while ranging.
Knotch_Blade
Defence, as it affects all aspects of combat. With a higher defence, if you accidently get pulled out of a safespot you won't lose as much hp/won't die. Which would make Ranging more relaxing. ~Knotch My Gamercard | Click for Blog | Mining Guide | Illumination
craven_range
your defence and range are level 70 and 71, i would try working on getting them to 80 or 90 first =)

NJE03
Get defence afterwards as you mention, for prayer stick with the ranging. Range is no easy task in f2p though. :) [spoiler=Stats:]Updated December 22, 2011: Total level - 1442 - 170M+ XP , Combat level - 115Combat skills: Attack - 90, Defence - 99 (24.45m+ XP), Strength - 90, Constitution - 99 (16.42M+ XP) Ranged - 99 (13.32M+ XP), Prayer - 60, Magic - 99 (13.25M+ XP)Non-Combat skills: Cooking - 99 (13.80M+ XP), Woodcutting - 99 (31.95M+ XP), Fishing - 90, Firemaking - 99 (24.82M+), Crafting - 90, Smithing - 90, Mining - 85, Runecrafting - 60, Dungeoneering -

SERG_Troy
your defence and range are level 70 and 71, i would try working on getting them to 80 or 90 first =) +1 Making smaller goals for yourself won't dampen your spirit as easily. Also, 70 is still quite far from 99, I don't even think it's 33% of the way. ;)
alcoolj
Def for sure. F2P range is long and tiresome (so is def, but waitÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ.). In P2P you can do power-ranging using chins, and you will be kicking yourself for ever flinging an arrow at those giants.
CowsEatFood
Thanks for your responses guys (I know I have been kind of irritating asking this in lightning... a lot :anxious: )! And btw, I would be power-ranging if I got 99 def first, which would cost more than getting defense second... I don't even know if I'll ever get members. So I'm still kind of leaning towards range, and I would still be able to go to med-level crater at bh (I calced it and it said I would have 96-97 combat... which would still get me in). But oh well... I'd still like suggestions on which one to do :D. Maybe it'll change my mind  .
craven_range
put it this way, 99 defence can help you get 99 range, but 99 range cant help you get 99 defence.
R_2_H
I would say 99 ranged because it receives tremendous respect for an f2p 99. But it depends on which is easier for you I guess, and which you want more. Some people say ranged is very hard to train in free worlds, I find it easy. Good luck with either.
