February 19, 200818 yr Ya... I kinda stay away from the role-playing server, it seems like fun but I don't want to get sucked into another D&D incident...
June 9, 200818 yr They determine how much a item is worth. Example:Sara and Zammy plate is worth more than THE ENTIRE GUTHIX SET Why? Because everyone hates Guthix ;_;
June 13, 200818 yr I think they are a neat add-on to Runescape. I'm one of the many people sad that Jagex stopped publishing letters from the RS gods, which was a very cool monthy post, with letters to the citizens of Runescape on various topics. Thanks to Uno for the awsome sig <3
June 15, 200818 yr I am an aithiest in real life, and so i think that deities in anything really is rather well... not good... but it cirtanly adds to the game, having gods... and I liked the letters from the gods too... and just think, with out rs gods there would be no GWD or castle wars!
June 15, 200818 yr I'm Agnostic irl, and i have no problem with the gods in varioius games, books, movies, etc. They seem to add a depth to the story, something that makes it more interesting If there werent any gods in RuneScape, then what would we do with the monsters, the NPCs, the weapon, armor, various items. They would all have the same reason, the same origin. But with the gods, and RuneScape religion, weapons, armor, monsters, and NPCs are all different. they have separate ideals and thoughts, ways of life, etc Also if you look at any god item in the GE, the Zamorak is worth more than the Saradomin, which is worth more than the Guthix. For some items, this is because the Zamorak items give attack and strength bonuses, while Saradomin gives defense and Guthix gives balanced bonuses. Otherwise, red is just a cooler color :P
June 15, 200818 yr Three words: God Wars Dungeon. 100% F2P99 Defense, Tuesday February 10th 200999 Attack, Tuesday May 26th 200962,189th to get it
June 15, 200818 yr You do forget, RuneScape gods are real in the game-storyline, where as our Earth gods cannot be proven. It just a story in the game, nothing to be over hyped nor hated for. I personally dressed up to favour Saradomin when I played (Holy book, monks robes, blue/white clothes, etc.) ^.^ "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is."
June 15, 200818 yr Its a nice touch to the whole middle age/fantasy theme but saying god is stupid and how it dosnt exsist goes a little too far for me. But anyway people should not get too carried away with those pixelated gods and such. I love the god letters because they were fun to read and it gave some nice hints too. If you remember the god were always fighting with each other to write the letters. Strength through wisdom. -lem Quick Link to Lem's Blog
June 19, 200818 yr They're just pixels. If anyone actually worshipped them, I'd be seriously freaked out. Those who criticize our generation often forget who raised it.
June 19, 200818 yr I like them in the game because they bring a sense of compition somewhat... Everyone pick's which one they "believe" in and those people pick the items by that god, like God books, and summoning eggs. Kinda says something about people's personalities too I think, if they pick saradomin to me- their a little bit more calm and the future "mod" type. Guthix, they don't really pick side and are go-with-the-flow. Zamorak and their the out-going attack everything type. But I probably read way too far into that -.-
June 19, 200818 yr Well you must realise it is not the appearance of a god, but its meaning that gets worshiped? Am I a freak if I think "Strength through Wisdom" is a good thing that I apply my life to? "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is."
June 19, 200818 yr Well, RuneScape would without doubt be very empty without gods, so I like the fact that they have added them. Guthix, they don't really pick side and are go-with-the-flow. Well, I must disagree with you there. From what I have gathered of information, Guthix is the god of balance and have problems with understanding ownership. I will take this question from Guthix, for he knows very little of the ways of men. And when it comes to money, almost nothing (he just can't understand the concept of ownership, I'm afraid), and it is my duty to help where I can. Here is the full article of Saradomin's speak. Guthix shows classic signs of communism, which is why I follow him, and that is not what I call going with the flow. Filesharer.org - Upload your mugshot to support The Pirate Bay!
June 19, 200818 yr Wow, and I thought I read too far into it.. :o The award for best RS god knowledge, I hearby give to Oegly. :P Guthix is a communist you say eh? Hm never knew that...
June 19, 200818 yr I think they are a neat add-on to Runescape. I'm one of the many people sad that Jagex stopped publishing letters from the RS gods, which was a very cool monthy post, with letters to the citizens of Runescape on various topics. I am also one of these people. i waited eagerly for the next issue but it never came, now we have to make due with the unbelieveable benign creations from the people who work at the post section of jagex.
June 20, 200818 yr I think that they are important part of the game and will continue to grow in importance with the release of more God War related things.
June 21, 200818 yr I think that the Runescape gods are important to the storyline and quest stories (some of them). If you like to actually read what the quests are talking about and you enjoy a good story, by all means the Runescape gods are important. But if you play Runescape for the gaming aspect and you skip over quest dialogue, you can ignore them. Even in castle wars, or god wars dungeon you can just assign the gods colors and forget about them. (saradomin- blue, zamorak-red and ect with all games.) I don't associate the Runescape gods with real life because runescape isn't real life, it is a game. I like to have the gods in the game for a good story but I don't take it more seriously than that. Dragon Slayer is cruelty to dragons! (But I did the Quest for the platebody) ^No, that didn't happen to me, funny if it did though
