And we are ok with Gen 3+4 items and such?

Yeah we could even do LC.

But not Uber, that Metagame is dead. (Some kid got Magikarp to be like the 20th most used or something in Ubers.)

Wait, so the next tournament is Gen I and II pokemon in a Gen IV environment? Count me tentatively in for this, as I'd have a lot of research on the metagame to do.

I decided to go ahead and do a hard-mode game on Blue. My rules are:

* The standard KO = dead (I'm releasing anything that gets KO'd just to be sure, I have no attachment to anything I catch in this game)

* Catch the first unique thing in each area or city I encounter (to promote team diversity, or else I'll have 10 Pidgeys. Safari Zone counts as one area total, and I can only fish/surf once per route or city.)

* Unlimited use of Pokemon Centers and items (I already think this could make it too easy. Considering restarting and going with limited visits or limited items)

That's about it. Not naming my pokes, I'm uncreative anyways and think it's silly. Currently have a Squirtle, Pidgey, Rattata and Caterpie at level 8.

Speaking of which:

EVERY SINGLE GAME I start with fire thinking "oh, I can always catch a better water and grass type later, but there are no good fire types" and start thinking about when I get my hands on a Vaporeon or Starmie.

Then a meet the first gym...and I resort to this:

I'm also wondering, Celebi was Uber in Generation 2 due to not many Pokemon being able to take advantage of its weaknesses.

Clearly, those attacks are far more plentiful now, so Celebi is good, right?

Chapter 7: We only grow with Teamwork

Chibi_Poochyena_by_aunRina.png

A long time has passed since i last wrote a blog. We have gone through way too much. In several occasions, Nathan almost died to his own insolence. He began moving away from the team.

He has been like this since we last visited Petalburg. The memories of Tania must have struck him, and he has been quite quiet ever since. But despite our warnings, he has been more, quote on quote, suicidal. H lunges himself to battle at the slightest thing and never stops til either him or the opponent faints. This drove him to 2 deaths, wasting more of our precious revival herbs. We only have 4 left.

As we approached Mt. Pyre, Nathan suddently became calmer, as if the spirits in the tower were talking to him. On the top o Mt. Pyre were Aquas. Unfortunatly, we were too late. Their leader had already taken the Orb he came after, only to run away the next instant. The elders there gave us a new emblem, which i think were it belongs to.

As we were leaving, something resembling an Howl resounded in the mountain. Nathan has a new glimpse in it's eyes.

As we entered the Magma hideout in the volcano, we battled through hordes of Magmas defending their station of vigilantes. Then, we reached the bottom.

The Magma's leader was there, and so was a very odd statue. After a profound monologue, The leader raised his arm and revealed another Orb, this one bright blue, contrasting with the Red one the Aquas stole. The statue came to life as the legendary Groudon, which instantly fled. The magma's leader challanged us for a battle. He sent out at the same time all of his 4 pokemon. Two Mightyenas, a Camerupt and Crobat. I knew what to send. Nathan, Aran, Camilla and Magnus Immediatly bursted out of the pokeballs and started battle. They were all being supressed, when suddently they all began to spark.

In a nickel of time, the tides turned sides, as Nathan the Swampert, Aran the Lairon, Magnus the Magneton and Camilla the Camerupt started bashing around Maximillion's pokemon Camilla soon took care of the other Camerupt by causing a magnetude, which unleashed some rocks from the ceiling Aran used to rock tomb the crobat to death. Magnus raised up a reflect, blocking both mightyena's Take downs only to be greeted with a lv 10 magnitude. The battle was over, but Groudon is still out there in the wild.

Maybe we'll visit Slateport tomorrow, my brave Team members deserev some rest from all the evolution.

Well I progressed to Pewter city, with my Drake evolved into a Charmeleon, so the gym was rather easy. His Geodude did nothing except defense curl and Onix's Rock Tomb barely did 50% damage...

Got through Mt. Moon, Mercedes is now a Pigeotto. Some kid in the Pokemon Center tried to sell me a Magikarp for $500. Gtfo.

There are certain times in the game where you catch something game-changing. On Route 5, north of Cerulean, I had one of those moments. I caught a Bellsprout. Seemingly unimpressive, but Warbell's Sleep Powder both helped me beat Misty AND got me an Abra, named Maverick, who was a total [bleep] to train to level 16...well, he's a Kadabra now, so all is well.

Unfortunately, Misty's Starmie did claim the lives of my Mankey, Virum, and my Rattata, Maus. Sadly, to allow Warbell the opportunity to use Sleep Powder without getting KO'd, they had to be sacrificed. The first two enter the Memorial.

I went to Bill's and got the SS Ticket, and while on my way to Vermillion I caught a Meowth, who I named Kitty, and quickly dumped that sucker into the Day Care. Now I'm on Route 6 and closing in on Vermillion.

PARTY:

-Drake (Charmeleon) Level 21

-Mercedes (Pidgeotto) Level 23

-Maverick (Abra) Level 21

-Warbell (Bellsprout) Level 20

-Vampyre (Zubat) Level 9

-Kitty (Meowth) Level 12 [Day-Care]

BADGES: 2/8

MEMORIAL:

-Maus (Rattata) Level 5

-Virum (Mankey) Level 7

Cool, new forum features.

[hide=hide] Upon beating the Gym, I headed north, and gave a letter to Stephen Stone deep inside of Dewford Cave. In return, he gave me steel wing, which I taught to Sasha. Then, I was off to Slateport. After battling a few beachgoers and getting some soda pop to heal my pokemon, I headed north, and encountered a Plusle, which I caught and named Sparky.

After returning to Slateport, I battled a few Aqua Grunts in the museum, got the TM, thief, and saved Captain Stern. Then, I headed north again to battle a few trainers, and level up Sparky. After going through the vast and tedious trick house, I creamed May. I also battled a fisherman and picked a few berries. Izzy pickd up a Full Heal which I gladly added to my bag.

I was finally in Mauville! I walked into a stranger's house, and as a reward for my breaking and entering skills, he gave me HM06, Rock Smash, which I taught to Izzy, who I decided would be my HM [bleep], being only level 7 and so excellent at learning those sort of moves. After picking up a nearby X Speed, I headed east to do some battling. After I finished, I decided to deposit Jack, the Nincada, in the PC as well. Currently my only 3 useful team members were a Grovyle, a Taillow, and a Whismur.

I went to Rydel's and got the mach bike, which I immediately registered. Then, I battled Wally, and with two absorbs I beat his Ralts. In order to train Sasha, I headed west, to challenge more trainers and get stronger for the Gym. I encountered a wild Marill in the grass, which I caught and named Soap. Sasha reached level 22 against one of the trainers, and evolved into a Swellow!

I headed north of Mauville to challenge the Winstrate family. Sasha took care of all four with relative ease, thanks to the power boost from her recent evolution. PP was a major problem, as Siren's Uproar and Sasha's Wing Attack, two powerful attacks, were both depleted of PP. It was time for my 3rd Gym though. On the first trainer, Siren evolved into a Loudred. I breezed through the rest, but the magnemites kept giving me trouble.

I decided to not battle Wattson just yet. I headed south on the cycling road, dealing with more magnemites, and headed for Slateport. There, I stocked up on lots of Soda Pop, and bought harbor mail. Izzy picked up a Super Potion, and then I headed northwest to Route 103, which I hadn't explored previously. After battling a couple of trainers, I went back to Mauville, traded the mail for a Coin Case, and gambled for a bit.

It was time to stop stalling. After seeing how difficult magnemite was, I decided to take Rocky out, temporarily putting Izzy in, and I put Rocky in the daycare until he learned magnitude. I also put Sparky in, to train him until he learned Spark. Now, I was ready. I was completely shocked when Rocky 1-hit KO'd all three of Wattson's pokemon with a Magnitude 8! I won my third badge, and the TM, shock wave.

Also, a few questions. Is the old lady rest stop house allowed to be used at all for my challenge? (I'm doing 1 pokecenter heal after I beat a gym)

A speedy response would be appreciated, as I don't want to continue unless I know I can/can't heal (I'm right outside)

And are the desert and jagged path all considered the same route, meaning I can only catch one pokemon there?

I'm going to do the nuzlocke on my Emerald, which took me forever digging through my closet to find. I'll post a summary like everyone else is later, we don't have Internet at our house. I don't want to type it on my phone, so I'll have to stop by Starbucks to upload or something. I'll start with torchick.

Yeah idk but the 7th gym is notoriously hard in Emerald.

What I ended up doing is catching a Spheal then taught it blizzard. With strange hax I managed to free Claydol, so I brought in my Magneton for the kill.

YEAH; defeated the 7th gym, too bad 4 of my team fainted, making me waste my last revival herbs, so no more forgivingness.

My strategy: Send in Samus (Aran, changed her name) and Nathan, lift a substitute, surfhax with 2 criticals that Claydol (who is a [bleep]), then iron tail lunatone and solrock to death. I learned the hard way solrock has Solarbeam though, O-KO'ed Nathan.

So, in sum, Samus is a beast now she is an Aggron.

Yes you can heal there, it's like healing at the Mt Moon pokemon center.

Desert is not separate from rt 111, but in emerald you can access Mirage Tower, which contains all the pokemon in route 111 AND counts as a separate area.

I guess so. I made my challenge so i can revive mine for a set number of times (due to crit haxes), so yeah, you can use that as a healing point, not as a pokcenter.

I just safe like hell :s

My pokeman shall not enter the red zone. If it's a "boss" battle, it won't go below ~40%.
